Wasn’t sold on this idea about transferring One for all back when read this as well, and yeah that sentiment hasn’t really changed, but whatever. If anything, this season has been amazing when it comes to directing the stuff. All these memories of Shigaraki, which I’m sure we’ve visited several times already, will go on for a while, we know, but yeah, they’ve really managed to show how intimidating he is at this point. Add the voice acting bit as well on top of it.

Also yeah, all of this being a live telecast and everyone giving their side of commentary about how much everyone trusts Deku is something which truly shows you this battle.. the final battle, is really about to get wrapped up very soon. Maybe a couple more episodes, as yeah, I’m sure only about a dozen chapters are left now to be adapted.

Wow I am honestly in awe by the level of quality we are getting every week. These episodes feel like they are 5 minutes long… It was really nice getting some updates on the other characters and seeing what they are up to. Also, watching all the minor side characters watching Deku fight and reacting adds so much more stakes and emotions to it all…Can’t wait for the next one !

They really pull out every tricks, non-stop, including the cameo of legendary voice actor like Tsuda Ken for Overhaul and Hiroaki Hirata for Re-Destro. I'm so overwhelmed by the episode because every aspect deserve to be praised. Since I already praise a lot about visual and soundtrack aspects I think it's time to praise voice acting aspect.

Any anime award show that doesn't at least list this anime as this year's nominee can't be taken seriously.

I really love the way they showed Deku's fight silently through the screens of other characters watching him, some of those sequences had some great sakuga. MHA has always focused on emotional catharsis first and foremost over the technicality of it's fights, and these scenes are the epitome of that. It helps that MHA's ost is absolutely perfect at illiciting that feeling, Yuki Hayashi has truly gone above and beyond with this season's soundtrack (or you could say he went 'Plus Ultra').

Still they could've made the flashbacks and Vestige stuff less frequent, but that's more of a problem with the source material than the adaptation. Overall great stuff. 5/5

It's nice to watch the power explanation again,
amidst a very tough battle, creativity helps gain an upperhand.
It also nice to see the situation outside the battle, how the other characters doing, their thoughts, their worries, their hopes and their believe in Deku success.

The final battle between Midoriya and Shigaraki has taken some wild turns, and it’s looked amazing throughout, I especially loved the moment Midoriya went for the second hit in an attempt to transfer all the One For All spirits into Shigaraki, I wouldn’t have been upset if that was the final blow because it really had that feeling to it, but the fact it didn’t work just means we get more of this awesome fight lol. It is interesting too how the previous users within Midoriya realized that this was always their purpose, to stop the ultimate villain like this, it’s a cool full circle kinda thing, even if the initial plan was a last minute thing. And I gotta comment on Midoriya’s quirk usage, bro really is a master of understanding them, being a nerd for quirks all his life really came through.

And now things are getting pretty trippy, first there was the fusing of memories within the fight, and now they’re actually within Shigaraki with just Nana by Midoriya’s side, I guess this will be their first time seeing this stuff from Shigaraki’s past that we all saw years ago, I’m interested in seeing how they react to it and what they do to impact the current Shigaraki, although it’s gonna be really hard to watch for Nana. And lastly, I liked the bits we saw of the other characters reacting to the final battle, and also some more aftermath of the other battles, it’s especially nice to see the people in the floating coffin on the ground again, they’ve been in that thing since last Fall lol.

And I wasn’t expecting that line from Kaminari, bro is usually such a goofy ass but then says something like that, and I can see where he’s coming from, but I’d like to think the worry he’s feeling is because he’s personally connected to Midoriya, not sure if that’s it exactly but I liked the way he put it.

@ZenielDanaku or you can say that a mother (Nana) who put others above her son(Shigaraki's dad).

@Nerdason Knowing/showing a villians backstory and history isn't the same as justifying their actions...by that logic, any history teacher talking about Mao, Stalin or Hitler would be justifying them. Shigaraki is still the bad guy...plenty of people grow up with abuse and don't become 'villains', in-universe example, Todoroki and Endeavor.
We're just going to see Midoriya's reaction to learning more about Shigaraki, and Nana coping with the knowledge that her decisions helped bring about the current state of things. Unlike Endeavors redemption arc though, she's too late to reverse course to make things right.

I guess just pushing in 2nd didn't work. So Deku forced all the DNA of all other OFA users inside Shigaraki too. That sounds so wrong without context. Anyway, everyone except Nana wasn't repelled.

I guess now we're at the stage where Deku sees Shigaraki's backstory and does something internally to stop him.

Truck-kun jumpscare was very real! Thank god Midoriya got out of the way in time! XD

The main battle between Midoriya and Shigaraki is as wild and chaotic as it gets, but with everything on the line, Midoriya does get a good breakthrough at last. Now within Shigaraki's memories and fittingly with Nana by his side, things will still be difficult for him.

Another thing that I enjoyed from this episode was seeing the other cast members and either seeing how they were recovering from their own battles, but also voicing out their concerns with Midoriya's battle. Kaminari in particular hit hard for me with his own emotions wavering as he started to doubt his own belief in Midoriya's chances. For someone who is energetic and pulls off goofy faces when overusing his quirk, seeing him in such a teary state was an unexpected surprise to see. =(

It just hit me but with this pacing this will likely end in a few episodes, I thought it would be another double cour. Good to know it wont get dragged out too much.

Yeah Eri.. still the weirdest part of this story considering the buildup and potential of her quirk. Maybe she will do something usefull at the very end?

Isekai truck spinoff? Might be worth a movie, lol.

Blackwhip really is the MVP ability it seems.

Im actually getting invested in this, I dont even care about Deku but this season is just so good. Backstory shenanigang might be good for once.
Seeing Stains influence again, wow what a throwback to season 2 years ago. I might actually get a bit emotional when this ends.

@Nerdason Im not a fan of that either, but this was a long way coming for Shigaraki. Basically from the very start. He isnt an opponent you can beat conventionally anymore either.
Also the real big bad guy of the story, AFO, did get absolutely destroyed without any redemption BS.

Why do they always have to have a tragic back story? Sometimes horrible people (and Shigaraki is horrible make no mistake about it) can have perfectly normal childhoods with loving parents. And many people who have bad childhoods grow up to be perfectly normal and well adjusted individuals. I don't want a sobbing back story that justifies Shigaraki being a genocidal asshole.

Aizawa assuring eri and then kota doing the same was wholesome af

At the same time Kaminaris talk with momo kinda broke me. Its like watching their friend fighting death helplessly and not for the first time.

Also la brava complimenting him was wholesome as well and ready to support him.

Worrying for him while also keeping the trust is not easy . Truck kun is not helping too almost isekaid deku xD

Lady nagants talk about deku wrenching hearts open is interesting to what hes trying to do with shigaraki rn as well but this time its not looking good.

Doesnt stop from everyone rooting for him tho.

I think the story would be better if Deku’s dark phase lasted a little longer and he had actually tried to kill Shiguraki and discovered that after inheriting All for One’s abilities he was truly immortal and the only way to stop him was to force One for All in him to destroy both abilities. That would keep the story largely the same but at least the reason for Deku tossing aside his powers isn’t some stupid sense or mercy. The whole idea of “I can’t kill the bad guy” is so dumb especially at the expense of even more sacrifice from others.

Other than that this season has been great.

The director and production staff have really elevated the source material this season. The drama and emotional weight with the fights have all been stellar this season.

Wasn't a fan of this idea that you can attack a person internally with your quirk, but given that it was first introduced with Star and Stripe you can't say it's some out of nowhere Deus Ex Machina either.

I'm hoping they fix up the ending of the story because I had so many complaints over it in the manga. That would be a really great cherry on top to send off MHA.

Looking forward to the battle's climax!

Great ep

Continuation of Carnage Deku vs Shigaraki looked fine.

I highkey be forgetting that in the manga it wasn't much of a fight so I expected sum of good cuts and we got that.

Deku a true genius, stop playing with him.

Part A was pretty weak, but Part B made up for it.

Kaminari giving the feels. Simply just the classic hero vs villain trope where the rest of the team can't exactly help the mc bc they aren't strong enough to fight alongside unless they force themselves.

Liked the beginning of the past parts, great set-up for next ep.

Deku just escaped the wrath of truck-kun, he is now the strongest in anime 🤣

This ep adapted ch 414-416 and about 10 pages of 417.

9.5/10
