| The count did something good before he died. Expected, but I'm glad nevertheless. And Guts is such an amazing character. The last panel was just so powerful. ;____; |

| The poor count... poor, foolish count... and poor Theresia too. I'm quite certain we've not seen the last of her. It's amazing; Guts acts so cruel and savage almost all the time, so when he extended his blade to Theresia to save her, I couldn't help but grin widely. It's a small thing, the type of thing you'd expect out of a typical protagonist, but it means so much coming from Guts. Guts' face in the second-to-last page was truly heartbreaking. |

| Guts gives theresa a reason to life, the hate, the hate to kill him any day in the future. Is not a nice feeling, but is one reason to begin to life, and with the time, can change or not, but also she don´t commit suicide ;) |
| I tended to think that the Count wouldn’t sacrifice his daughter through out the latest chapters, but after all this is Berserk we’re talking about. So nothing can be certain until he made the decision and he proved me right that he still had his humanity and love for his daughter. I don’t think he ran out of time and neither did we need a clear “I can’t do it” from him. It’s obvious that he saw the happy family image that he desired the most deep inside through his daughter. That’s why he gave up sacrificing her at the end and even the god hand felt surprised at the result. Sometimes powerful image is more impactful than clear lines. At first I didn’t know why Guts cried. But on a second thought of the little I knew about his past, I figured out that it was probably because of Thereria saying “it’s all your fault”. Once you get to know what happened in his childhood & what he had experienced as you read afterwards, you’d know how fucked up dat line did to his life. |

| I'm glad that he didn't offer Theresia as a sacrifice, he did one good thing in the end, too bad that she blames Guts for everything. Guts saying that she should kill herself was really harsh, but those tears changed my opinion of him, he is really suffering, considering what he's been through it's normal. |

| The count's final moments were a nice "counter" to those "God Hands" sayings. They even felt the need to lure him (so they thought that he wouldn't be able by himself) 4/5 |
| The Count couldn't give up the only person left in his family for his own sake after all... He shouldn't have asked the God Hand to make him a monster because he fucked up so hard. Having his soul carried to hell was the ultimate cost for all the atrocities he had committed. Seeing Vargas among the damned souls shocked me. Despite being in agony for all eternity, I bet that he was at least a bit happy having his vengeance on the man who destroyed his life among with thousands of others like him. Guts saving Theresia with his sword was both awesome and very painful. And the girl finally snapped... Looking at Guts' tragically grieving face gained from the realization that he screwed over another child's future despite smirking and taunting seconds ago really made him sympathize with him. Hang on Guts ;-; |

| I'm kinda questioning Miura's decision to reveal so much info in the first story arc. I think I prefer how the anime did it: the first episode was kept purposely vague, with only a brief mention of Griffith. That way, you don't know how deep their relationship goes until you get to the Golden Age. Anyway, this arc was pretty good so I'm hoping my opinion will change sooner or later. It'll certainly be an experience to re-live the intense emotional experience that is the next arc. |

| If I had not seen the Anime, I would have thought Griffith was female. Awwww, Guts' sad face hit me right in the chest. What a miserable situation. Theresia directs her sadness into hate towards him. Fuck! |

| That sad Guts panel at the end was unexpected but I felt that because imagine he’s been through all of this because of Griffith and he was right there but he couldn’t do anything then this stupid girl at the end starts accusing him and blames everything on him so I feel like when he was walking away there was that moment of realization where everything hit him for a second and he realized his reality |

| Those events that just transpired would indeed be traumatizing to anyone, let alone a child. I feel that Guts believes its better to have her hatred of him be a reason to live on, rather then let her just wallow in despair. Was this a good decision? I cannot say. |

| That last panel of guts crying, that was heavy, it hit me so hard. I Wonder the main reason he cried tho, is it because he couldn't do anything to Griffith, or that how he hates the reason gave Theresia to live? Is that what Griffith did? Is that what Guts has realized in the end, that Griffith gave him a reason to live. I mean Guts wasnt sacrificed, so what happened??? Griffith let him live for a reason i believe. Thats my theory. The count in the end didn't sacrifice his daughter, i dont believe he ran out of time, he couldnt do it, he saw that image of his happy family, atleast vargas took him in hell, hes done some fcked up shi-. Theresia got traumatised af....Guts is such an interesting fellow. |
