I kind of want to watch this, but I don't want it to spoil anything for the final season. Does this have any spoilers beyond season 2 of the 2019 version?

The 2001 version strays from the actual story so you should be fine :)

Nope. It covers relatively the same stuff as season 1 but with more comedy
