my guy 8 is still a good rating don't complain... I personally didn't give it that since it was average but that doesn't matter. 8 is still a good rating, even 7 is a good one

Because most users on MAL are veteran anime watchers, and at a certain point in an anime fan life, they start to value stories and narratives rather than action and comedy. Don’t get me wrong it does have a story but it does not have attack on titan levels of writing which is why most MAL users rate it below a 10. I personally have rate it a 9 because of the reasons you have said but for it to be a 10 it needs more development.

The reason being manga readers (me included) didn’t like the anime adaptation or it didn’t meet our expectations but it was still a fun watch no hate but could have been better.

The second cour will test my judgment since that will confirm if this series is a flop or not.

I agree the contents of the story are fun but I think most of the lower scores are from manga readers like me because the choreography is drawn to be insane in the manga and the anime is a little lacking when it comes to animation. I knew it from the second I saw the studio working on it

well understandable I was anti-sakamoto days before watching it coz i am not very interested in a fat old aged man as the mc of an anime but as I watched it i enjoyed the series because of it's side characters, maybe they lacked depth idk but they were interesting enough to not make you feel bored

This is like a 6 at best and I'm being generous. I actually can't understand how people rate it so highly.
When it comes to animation, you can just name it Slow-mo the Anime. Story seems kinda interesting but the whole "I've come to assassinate you Sakamoto!" of the day thing got annoying really fast, same goes with the comedy. Idk, it has barely anything that would make it stand out even though everyone was hyping the shit out of it.

Personally, I found the anime underwhelming

The comedy wasn't funny and the action was too unrealistic for the type of anime it came across as to me. I wasn't expecting an intricate, well-written story, but even as a junk food battle shounen, it was kinda mid

I've been reading the manga since day one, and the anime was a bit of a letdown. There was a weird pencil drawing photoshop filter added, and it didn't convey the action as well as the manga did.

the treatment ot got for an average anime seems fine to me. it wasn't something out of the box, or had alot of depth ..so I couldn't really engage in it, mentally. I did read the manga cause the art is good.
