 The Shibou Yuugi de Meshi wo Kuu. (Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table) stage at the MF Bunko J Autumn School Festival 2025 revealed additional cast, staff, the "Ghost House" promo, visual (pictured right), and opening theme on Sunday.The television anime adapting Yuushi Ukai's action suspense light novel will debut with a 60-minute special on January 7, 2026 at 11:00 p.m. on Tokyo MX, followed by ABC TV and WOWOW. The first episode will depict the "Ghost House" game challenge. Second episode onward, the anime will air at 11:30 p.m. The anime will also premiere on Netflix and other streaming platforms in Japan. Cast Aoi: Rena Motomura (Zutaboro Reijou wa Ane no Moto Konyakusha ni Dekiai sareru) Kinko: Inori Minase (Spy Kyoushitsu) Kokuto: Haruka Satou (Wandance) Beniya: Mutsumi Tamura (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 6: Stone Ocean) Monono: Rina Kawaguchi (Witch Watch) LIN from the band MADKID is performing the opening theme "¬Ersterbend." Keika Ootsuka (Hai to Gensou no Grimgar animation director) and Souta Komatsu (Mikakunin de Shinkoukei key animation) are credited for the sub-character designs. Bit grooove promotion is credited for the sound production. Souta Ueno (Gimai Seikatsu) is directing the anime series at Studio Deen. Rintarou Ikeda (Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia) is handling the series composition and Eri Osada (Sekai Saikou no Ansatsusha, Isekai Kizoku ni Tensei suru) is designing the characters. Junichi Matsumoto (Mahoutsukai no Yome) is composing the music. Ukai began penning the light novel under the MF Bunko J imprint with illustrations by Necometal in November 2022. Kadokawa published the eighth volume on February 25, with the ninth volume planned for a January 23, 2026 release. Monthly Comp Ace began serializing a manga adaptation by Banzai Kotobuki Daienkai in April 2023. Kadokawa released the fourth volume on September 24. | You can really tell that Souta Ueno is directing this show. It's so cinematic! I especially like the shots where everyone looks simplified, as if they are out of the focus of the camera. This just doesn't feel like the typical anime, and that's great. |

In most volumes, it is usually a girl killing a ton of girls, the weapons they use range from knives to sub machine guns to fist fights. Yes, they fist fight to the death. I will definitely be reading volume 5 months later. Not watching the anime though because I need to catch with other light novel series~ |

I just finished volume 4.
In most volumes, it is usually a girl killing a ton of girls, the weapons they use range from knives to sub machine guns to fist fights. Yes, they fist fight to the death.
I will definitely be reading volume 5 months later. Not watching the anime though because I need to catch with other light novel series~
