The Yaga and Panda chapter in the manga hit me way too hard. I cried at that time. It was adapted pretty nicely, but definitely didn't hit as hard as it should've here. But, it is what it is. Every medium has its own strength. Yuji and Megumi went undercover to meet Hakari, and Yuji had to face Panda as his opponent. LOL. The fight was pretty cool and goofy and nicely animated.

Hakari looks cool, and Kirara looks cute as well. Yuji acting goofy was hilarious. His conversation with Hakari was so hilarious, especially his trying to act like he didn't know who Gojo was. LMAO. Funny dude. He fumbled there at that moment. Pretty nice episode. Definitely setting up for the future episodes.

Also, the soundtrack drops today.

The itadori Panda fight was so crazy and such a departure from the more serious tone of Maki killing the Zenin lol.

The fact that Hakari x Yuji convo was one of the most well animated scenes of the entire series is insane. So much detail into the characters movements and making them feel and look real

I love how Harari's current girlfriend is actually a guy, is this the first time in this anime? I hope it's not the last time we see same-sex couple, I'm not pressuring you, Yuji and Megumi.

Artificial corpse is the closest thing so far to reviving dead people, at least from my standard. Other curses only deal with corpses, but not the information.

When Megumi said Yuji doesn't know the concept of lying it doesn't mean that he can't lie, he's just very bad at it. But the good news is while he's bad at verbally lying, he's very good at non-verbally lying. Take a look at his match with Panda, he completely convince anyone that this is a serious match.

wow i loved the direction of that entire last scene. holding the same shot for that extended period really makes the viewer feel the uncomfortable and awkward feelings that yuji has as he enters the room to deceive hakari.

really well done, especially with the minor movements of the characters and the sound of the phone call

Make Cursed Corpse like Panda feels like very inefficient. Make a army out of it, no way. Do some murder for it, sure.

Damn I forgot Yaga's death was right after the Maki arc. Was a great guy. Panda's can cry too :)

Hakari's also finally here. It's all about passion. I also just remembered the great stuff with him later.

Great to finally see Kinji and Kirara in the anime they make a great pair ngl. Im excited to see more of Kinji he's easily one of my favourite characters in the whole story, Kirara's a awesome character too im looking forward to getting more of her too next episode.

The animation for this episode was really good too especially those exchange of blows between Panda and Yuji

@phantomfandom Well, everything points to Kirara being a trans woman, and Hakari also suggested that he's not interested in guys, so I wouldn't exactly call it a same-sex couple XD

One of my favorite JJK characters finally makes his debut and he shares the same VA as one of my favorite One Piece characters. Hakari is here baby!

The Panda part at the beginning before the OP didn’t really hit as hard in the anime for some reason. Still sad though and I felt sorry for Panda. Yuji “vs.” Panda was cool and I like how goofy the animation was since the two of them weren’t fighting seriously lol.

I really enjoyed that last scene with Yuji and Hakari, just a basic conversation scene without any changing camera angles yet it still felt immersive for the viewer. And of course things aren’t allowed to go smoothly lol so now our boy finds himself in some trouble.

Well, the Culling Game is near and I am excited to see the next few episodes.

For what I liked:
- As always, the animation is unmatchable. Fluid, beautiful and overall just stunning.
- The Death of principal Yaga was executed very well, with a great emotional undertone and I am happy that we had no background music during it. Since it made it more eerie and darker.
- The "fight" of Yuji and Panda. Really fun to watch. :)
- Kirara's and Hakari's design. They just look gorgeous.

What I didn't like:
- I didn't really like the execution of the conversation between Yuji and Hakari. I know some people really like it, but I just had more in mind. Like facial experssions and a bit more camera shots that would have shown Hakari and Yuji. While it still was okay, I think that it just feels like the weight and intensity of the scene is pulled down. And when they start to fight, it just shows you only a bit and leaving out a bit from the manga. I don't know. It's just not my taste.

Overall a good episode which I would say is another 8/10.
It wasn't mind blowing, but it wasn't weak either. My only problem is still the conversation between Yuji and Hakari.
Hoping that the next episodes keep up the great animation!

Yaga is dead, he did is best since his teacher days and will be remembered. That part didn't hit like in the manga tho but atleas they nailed that iconic panel.

Hakari is finally here one of the best character, his conversation with Yuji was casual ans chill until Yuji makes a blunter. Bro just want some reforme in the society and making his betting money in peace.

That last scene has is fully in spite of One Punch Man. More frames than the whole season. That was a genius of cinematography and just how Hakari ignores the call but knew that something was off. Absolutely crazy how people out there can create stuff like this. It seems simple, but the nuance is soooooo good!

Man wtf the episode ended way too fast.

Anyways, we got introduced to third-year Hakari finally + Kirara as well. Yuji really does suck at lying lol. Gojo who? He really pretended to not know Gojo.

Then we end on start of fight cliffhanger with Hakari and Yuji.

At the start we got Yaga and Panda...man RIP Yaga he done dirty. We also saw Kusakabe's sister? Anyways Yaga basically made a cursed corpse doll of her son for her. Just situation.

So this episode was a snore...
Except for the last scene where it picked up again. Thanks to Zoro

For more info: Yaga's death is so out of place and was not done in a good way. Direction is still good, but it just feels with no impact nor emotion. I just felt nothing. Also the fight club thing was also boring. People seem to be defending because "Look reference". Kinda reminds me of disney fans somehow.

Oh shit, didn’t expect to almost cry that early in the episode. “Even pandas can cry” that hit hard bro. With those clothes, Yuji and Megumi kinda resembled Naruto and Sasuke. The last whole sequence with Hakari was brutal, I loved how it was just shown from that one perspective, and that kinda animation looks so realistic it feels weird sh, I loved it. Next episode gonna be so good.

God what a hollow boring episode. Yaga's death was so dry and pointless it was almost funny, that's two weeks in a row where a character dies out of nowhere and it's completely emotionless because they were both nothing burger characters nobody cared about. Also it's so odd that they show Panda crying over Yaga one moment and then he's immediately over it later in the episode lol. Gege has to be one of the worst shonen writers I've seen when it comes to how he handles his own characters. As for the rest of the episode it was basically just filler made to pad out the run time, I mean there was a stretch where it was just Megumi and Yuji walking and talking for 4 minutes straight. Why they had to drag out meeting Hakari like they did I have no idea. And when Yuji finally meets him at the end Hakari starts rambling about his "heat" and gambling for like 3 minutes.....like holy shit dude Yuji doesn't give af and nether does the audience. So yeah this was like ~5 minutes of actual story/information that was stretch out to be a 20 minute episode. Last week the pacing was too fast and this week it was too slow, maybe next week they'll get it right?

i say jujutsu kaisen is more plot or action driven show than character or emotionally driven shows so enjoy the rule of cool and aura farming more

Gosso is so locked in when it comes to non-action! The last 3 minutes being a single cut from one perspective was top tier! I'm slowly getting acclimated to the creative vision for this season. Hakari and Kirara are also great additions to the cast.

This was the big Panda episode I've been looking forward to ever since I picked up the manga during the whole post season 2 JJK spoilers arc. It's no secret that Panda is my all time favourite character and it's a shame that he barely features in the manga. But every scene he's in is great because he has three hearts of pure gold and a great outsider perspective as a non-human character. This episode is no exception. We see how he is not bound by vengeance and anger and we see him grieve for his father. And that fight with Yuji was pure hype and fun. While it's not exactly as good as the first 4 episodes in pure visuals, that doesn't mean that Mappa didn't cook. Gosso's storyboarding also made a lot of the talking more interesting to look at.

Oh my god, I love this scene so much. It’s just two guys talking to each other, but it feels so alive. Holy! It’s probably fully rotoscoped, but it still looks insane as a whole scene?!

They really built up the scene just to end it on a cliffhanger for the next episode. Oh my god, I can’t wait for next week.

Loved the WWE episode, finale scene looked like it was straight from a bottle movie

So Kirara's a crossdresser, couldn't have guessed from the first time he appeared, i wonder what's his cursed energy speciality him and Hakari and if they'll become allies in the culling game,

also can't believe the director is dead, a shame the fight was skipped and i really felt bad for Panda

Felt like this was a disconnected episode and as expected, nowhere near the one-off episode that I actually liked for once that was the previous. I did love the direction and way the Kinji-Yuuji conversation was portrayed here in the anime by having it be one-take and just having the angle be an 'observation' angle of us viewing their meeting from a distance and seeing their subtle movements throughout to make it more real than just close-ups. Like we are the camera in that room basically. Yuuji's poor lying that was hinted at earlier came to fruition in a subtle manner during the flow of the conversation, which is a nice detail. The 'pro wrestling'-like fight with Panda and Yuuji was alright too. But the first few minutes with Yaga's passing while not bad on its own, didn't feel well placed whatsoever here and with Panda helping Yuuji as is in the meeting of Kinji Hakari in the Fight Club, it felt really awkward for me. Sure we get to know about cursed corpses through this but the placement did the actual moment not much justice, which can be reminiscent with this series in general (anime and manga). And as a whole, while the previous episode was strong on its own outside the context of the arc, not too fan of how the actual Culling Game arc has been built up so far. Feels too all over the place. Nice final few minutes but otherwise, this was meh. Not as bad as episode 3 but not great.

I really like the way they handled the scene between Yuji and Hakari, instead of doing a bunch of dramatic cuts between the two of them during their conversation, they decided to make it one big continuous fixed shot with a lot of emphasis on character expression through body moments which gives it a more natural and cinematic feel to it.
