watched it when airing, i also wanted to drop it but continued for the memes floating everywhere. don't remember much but from my score iirc the last few eps weren't good either

no this does not get any better. in fact it gets worse. I only finished it for the sake of finishing it. genuinely this is at least bottom 5 animes I have seen

just watch it on 2x or something

If you’re not enjoying it now then I don’t think the last episodes will change that for you. You are probably better off just dropping it if that’s what you feel like doing.

Yeah if you didn't like the first 8 you won't like the last 4 either. I'm mixed on it. Decent characters, decent art style but the plot is not great. Will probs watch S2 tho

I never drop any entries so it wasn't on my mind. I don't know why I had any expectations for this show, but it definitely didn't meet them. It's just a bad gag humour show with some incest sprinkled in.

I usually complete the shows I started watching. This was a waste of time. Didn't like it at all cuz of the ridiculous fan service and uninteresting plot.

Watched it for the memes it doesn't get better you can drop it unless you want to watch s2 for new meme potential.

There is no incest. Yuki just likes to tease Masachika.

Just for balance, I’m not objecting to people not liking it, your choice. That’s who the post is addressed to I guess. But I loved it, and can’t wait for season 2. Despite the complaints there is NO INCEST in this show, just a running joke between 2 nerdy siblings pretending to be the degenerates society paints them as.

The end is terrible because best girl Yuki becomes the losing heroine.

As a big fan of the series, I personally wouldn’t say I’m that excited about the upcoming season. Maybe, maybe not, it’s influenced by the fact that I’ve read the light novel to some extent, but when I think about it, it’s a pretty generic romcom, and you know how things go. Without even spoiling anything, you can already guess it’s probably going to be more fan service next season, with no real chance of them actually getting together.

That said, I still find it fun to watch. The art is pretty, and while I wouldn’t call it something to be really hyped about, I’ll probably still watch the next season.

Did you read the LN before or after S1?
You seem kind of disappointed in how it unfolds

Yeah, I guess everybody likes to watch a generic show that doesn't require brainpower from time to time, and though that's not how I felt, I can see why some people would think it's entertaining or fun.
The art being nice is probably the best thing about it haha

I would've liked for you to actually get into it, but I think I understand why you don't. I'll say my piece though (not saying it's exactly what you think but just what I suspect).

This show tries too hard at many things and fails miserably at almost all of them. It belongs to a dreadful category of shallow rom com drama, such as slop like "the dreaming boy is a realist", "my friend's little sister" or "can a boy-girl relationship survive", and they're all spawns of untalented writers desperate to emulate their own improved version of oregairu, which is frankly impossible.

They're all characterized by, among others, 2 key tropes:

the suicide inducing, itchy back causing, cringe, unfunny banter

and the underdog, op in some way but disinterested MC.

There's also the terrible voice acting, contrived drama, and a lot of desperate meme baiting moments (they fucking want the TikTok clips to go viral).

As opposed to the other examples, this one has something that has always managed to carry many undeserving slop to the heights of (relative) popularity and high scores. A somewhat interesting premise/main gag and very very very appealing art/animation. Other than that, it might as well be yet another one of those seasonal filler anime that nobody ever talks about again after it airs.
