Welp, for some reason I'm guessing we're going on a flashback journey to Eraser's past high school days. Aizawa, Shiragumo and Yamada were quite the trio. One had a podcast, the other basically was a Son Goku happy reference and then there's our protagonist who really didn't see much use in his quirk in order to become a hero. In the middle of all that we had this stray cat and the flasher Midnight coming in to take it. Even from that age she had no shame at all at her own exposure.

Gotta say, I don't remember that purple dude being mentioned at all in the original series.

We start the Eraser backstory with Koichi getting saved per usual.

Eraser might be moody, but he has good reasons to not take the cat. U can tell that he thinks long term abt most things.

Oh yeah, there was a time Aizawa and Yamada weren't teachers. Never really thought of that. It's so funny to see this now.

Didn't expect to see a prequel episode about Aizawa in Vigilante. I think it would've made more sense if this were in the main series, but oh well. Maybe there's a reason for this. Interesting that this will continue in another episode.

If you rewind back to the beginning of the episode, you'll see Midnight still has that cat. So what they said was true after all. Also, Midnight's old outfit was crazy. Did she actually make the costume laws worse? Well, that should be unsurprising. She was just a student and probably underage.

Watching this arc after finishing the main series is a little bit awkward.

I have to wonder if Bettencourt just reused other character designs or even just random ones for various characters, especially when Horikoshi was unlikely to really reference Aizawa's past or that class at all. I see one that looks like Kamui Woods, I see one that reminds me of some tokusatsu character with a helmet (or maybe someone from Kinnikuman?), even the teachers are random, the one lady with a Char Aznable type mask almost, a guy who looks like he's always ready to go for a swim rescue, whoever that one guy is with a TEletubbie looking head in the background

@holdingnothing Aizawa's friend is clearly Son Goku. The dude with the helmet is sentai inspired. I think the teacher might be a nod to Dragon Quest: Legend of Abel but not sure.
I guess they just threw shit to see what sticked and didn't wasted time over-designing characters that don't show up in MHA.
