Synopsis

Despite her supposed ineptitude with regular magic, Princess Anisphia defies the aristocracy's expectations by developing "magicology," a unique magical theory based on memories from her past life. One day, she witnesses the brilliant noblewoman Euphyllia unjustly stripped of her title as the kingdom's next monarch. That's when Anisphia concocts a plan to help Euphyllia regain her good name-which somehow involves them living together and researching magic! Little do these two ladies know, however, that their chance encounter will alter not only their own futures, but those of the kingdom...and the entire world!

Tensei Oujo to Tensai Reijou no Mahou Kakumei began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou under the title "Tensei Oujosama wa Mahou ni Akogare Tsuzuketeiru" (転生王女様は魔法に憧れ続けている) on February 13, 2019. Kadokawa has released a revised and illustrated version of the series since January 18, 2020 under its Fujimi Fantasia Bunko label.

The series has been published in English as The Magical Revolution of the Reincarnated Princess and the Genius Young Lady by Yen Press under the Yen On imprint since April 12, 2022.

An isekai with a seemingly overpowered magic thirsty protagonist who also happens to be the princess of a powerful kingdom…what chaos will arise? Firstly I’d like to start off with the fact that I’m so happy this series is getting a really great anime adaptation! With that aside here are my thoughts on Tensei Oujo to Tensai Reijou no Mahou Kakumei.

Consistency issues, forced drama and bad writing. It tries to be serious and deep without seriously developing the world or giving it any depth. It seems the author has an idea of how a certain character should be or how a certain scene should play out then writes the book around it. The worst part is that those elements are so overused and tropey that it makes one groan rather than appreciate the reference, especially when the book is purportedly trying to be serious.
