Yeah I feel like a lot of people would benefit from taking on a more individualist way of thinking and practicing self determination instead of blaming society or believing that everything is predetermined. We have little control over what happens in overall society, but at the very least we can take control of our lives and try to make something of ourselves instead of giving up... sometimes permanently. People wonder why the male suicide rate is so high.

Ended up making that MGTOW thread, kinda what I expected as far as replies. A lot more positive than I thought though. Anyway it's been a good chat, let me know if you're down for it another time. It's nice to know people you can be open with about your thoughts and opinions when IRL I usually stay quiet or be very vague.

Yeah it's kind of like you're indoctrinated into this ideology from an early age and you really can't see past it. I think I was that way for a long time, but some shit happened in my life and it left me really confused and wanting answers so eventually I found them. I was kind of angry and frustrated for a long time, but I've kind of just accepted it now. I think one of the worst things men and especially MGTOW tend to do is take it out on the women in their lives. Theres nothing my mom or sister or female colleagues or subordinates can really do about it.

Sometimes I see these stories about false rape allegations or divorces where the men get just completely put through the ringer often ending up in jail and on the brink of suicide just really makes me sad. Robin Williams' suicide was also one of the contributing factors to me looking into this sort of stuff. The ridiculous sums of alimony he had to pay to his wife pretty much forced him to keep working and eventually he just couldn't handle it. Feminists always bring up rape as the violent crime which affects women more than men (all other violent crimes affect men more), yet they never take into account prison rape and the fact that the vast majority of male rape incidences go unreported. Honestly I don't think there is anything we can do about how society views men. MRA's can try all they want, but from a biological and evolutionary perspective men have always been disposable.

Yeah sorry, don't mean to be a downer, but I think it's just up to every individual man to make the best of himself. Men have naturally been more individualistic and competitive with each other. Unfortunately that means a lot of men slip through the cracks and society doesn't give a fuck about them. Hopefully I never become one of those men, but who knows what the future has in store.

Yeah I guess a lot of people come across this kind of thing and decide to against. Especially for women they don't want feminists speaking on their behalf and acting like they represent all women. I think that's one of the main differences between most men and women. Men don't really think of themselves in a collective sense. For example I remember watching the Oscars and the lady that won the documentary Oscar was saying how this was a win for all women and she dedicated the award to women. You would never see that sort of thing from a man, men tend not to speak on behalf of the entirety of men and it's kind of sad that some women think they can do that and try to represent all of women. The victim culture is also something I'm quite perplexed with, I have no idea how it became a good thing to be victimized and the whole idea of levels of oppression and stuff is just so bizarre to me.

I'm not a big fan of labels myself. Like I said I came into the community through MGTOW after some personal issues and there are some pretty crazy folks in that movement. Still enjoy a lot of MGTOW content, but I recognize it can be very polarizing. I think lables just add to the whole identity politics and us v.s them mentality. I don't want to box myself into one way of thinking. A year or two ago I thought the same way as most SJW being a ethnic minority and living in a place like Toronto. I might make a thread about MGTOW at some point, a lot of people seem to know of it, but don't really know what it's about and hopefully I can shed some light.

I'm pretty pessimistic myself, but I'm moving away from depending on society to improve and taking my life into my own hands.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
