I think it’s the art direction, dialogue/exposition/writing, sound design, pacing, and overall lack of impact. Madoka was an extremely hard hitting show where every scene mattered and every action felt. The visuals and stylistic choices greatly enhanced the story whereas in Rebellion it feels they’re trying to distract from it.

I quote some sentences from your rebellion review. Do you know what's the problem with your review? Baseless claims without any evident nor argument to back the statement up. You make a point about how rebellion's art style distracted you from the story yet you failed to explain how and give any examples which defeats the main point of a review which is to explain. You are writing a review, not some baseless rant. There are many sites and subreddits dedicated to uncovering symbolism in rebellion, when you said that the art style distracting it probably just boils down to your 2 brain cells not understanding anything

why are you even still watching anime when the amount of shows that you've dropped more shows than you actually bother to complete

you know when someone is an elitist when most of the show that he likes are obscure shows from the 2000s that nobody remembers

explain to me how school days, yuuki yuuna, hidamari sketch, akame ga kill, kimi ga nozomu eien, and mirai nikki have higher ratings than sangatsu no lion, madoka magica movie 3, barakamon, kaiji, demon slayer, your name, made in abyss, mob psycho, monooke hime, nichijou, OPM, maquia, bunny girl, violet evergarden, usagi drop, space brothers, shirobako, your lie in april, and a place further than the universe

Just because you've watched more anime doesn't mean that your taste and ratings can't be trash.

Trash madoka review mate. How is that supposed to explain anything. The movie was actually as enjoyable as the tv series. Of course the writing isn't as complex as the series because it's a movie and they have less screen time but for what it is it's a very good sequel that lived up to the tv series. And tell me how is school days a 9/10.
It’s time to ditch the text file.
