An anime that asks "What if those basic enemies actually tried?".

First, the bad. The anime itself is a sprinting mess. While well animated, it jumps very quickly from one arc to the next. There is barely any characterization outside of our MC. The "Rangers" themselves get some backstory, but It's not enough to redeem them.

The good: Very well animated. The english dub is great. It has a few twists that are somewhat easy to predict, but still good.

If you have time to kill and feel like rooting for an idiot to have revenge, give it a watch. But, I may reccomend anything else ... if you require more substance in your anime. Better as background noise

One of very few Shrine Maiden focused animes available to watch.

Firstly, big issues. The anime is 24 episodes and doesn't conclude the story. Meaning we may see a season 2 or it'll be another anime left open. If that doesn't bother you, then ignore this. Secondly, being an ecchi series, you'd expect more focus from the adult (20) sister. But, instead they gave more to the younger sister (middle school age). Each girl gets their own separate moment, but the middle schooler gets more.

Next, the good. If you are a dub hater, this thankfully has a pretty good dub. Everyones inflections are great ... and even use the proper japanese for the shrines, and various things. I.e. Kara-oke instead of carrie-oke. There is an arc that uncovers more of each sisters past and ambitions. Plus at the end a secret final arc which isn't as obvious if you don't pay attention. Your anime staples like the School Festival, Body Swap, and alternate dimension make a return to play rolls with the sisters and main character.

Is there anything unique about this anime? Only the fact that there is shrine maiden ascetic. They could have just as easily changed it to a local business and wouldn't have much different outside of the Red String Of Fate. Because it's a show about the shrine and the gods (how they can affect peoples lives), there are segments that use the red string seen in their outfits to forshadow/show you glimpses into the arc. So... Just the Shrine Maiden stuff makes it unique.

With all this being said, I did like the season. While not the best there is, it is certainly something to watch if not just for the dub work, then for characters and the twist arc. As long as you can get past the Big Issues I mentioned earlier.

It isn't bad. It isn't good. It's a comedy about a failure trying her best and getting in pervy and sad situations because of it.

Following highschool students, watch as our white haired protagonist do simple magic tricks wrong! Over and over again! That is the gimmick! It's in offensive. It's short. You got time to burn? You don't know what to watch? This'll fill a good hour or so of time. Does not need or really deserve a season 2.

If you like nagatoro, the authors did collab for a special promo chapter.

Outside of this, the dub is done well. Still isn't a ... great anime, but the VAs did a good job.

Adult. Humor. And existential dread. Presented at in anime children. In the form of an aired television show.

Do you hate your job? This anime will speak to you in ways you won't believe. With a cast of characters ranging from "I hate my existance but I need money" to "I have the morally just one with the humor of a ten year old" and everything in between. I really cannot state more. It's multipart segments with ... oddly real life lessons like I would give my small siblings.

Watch at your own digression. But, save it for depressive episodes.


The dub is phenomenal. ... It serves all the purposes.

I have described this anime as a uncomfortable comedy. You will laugh, you will grimace, you will root.

Middle school romance meets mad science and typical anime scenarios. If you really want to cringe hard, watch this. If you want to show your friends how far south anime can go, show them this.

12 episodes split into 2 sections each. With a delightful way of making you question your sanity like you came down with a heavy fever and started tripping on the cough syrup.

Do I recco? Strangely yes. Just for the fact that you will ask so many questions and feel like all ... of them were thrown in a box that said "What questions?".

The dub is good. No one phoned in.

I think the big issue why it isn't ranked higher is because it's simultaniously a slow burn and a sprint. They tried to make the adaptation fit 13 episodes.

Personally, I enjoyed it. Opening is very good. The dub is quality. The romance itself is a bit lacking. Drama is kinda.... missing. But the show is very cute. It does alot in terms of characterization in those 13 episodes but at the same time they didn't do enough.

There will likely not be a season 2. The whole point is that the ending is the two get ... together. The author even said the series end when they do. So, while they could explore more, this is likely the end. I would have asked there was spacing. Do more with less. But, this is what we got.

I would definitely recommend if you want to see a broken girl thrive again in a short period of time. Or if you just like some cute animations.

This anime has alot of modern slang used throughout it. There is about as much substance of a cheese sandwich and the twist at the end can be easily guessed by anyone who watches anime in this similar genre. What good is there to say?

Well, a bit. Personally, I liked the character designs. Yes that is alot like saying "I enjoy the sun", but still they are very cute and unique for the most part. Each girl can be identified and each has something that'll make you remember them. Outside of that, the score isn't too bad. Good when it needs to be and there ... when you expect it.

Is there anything bad? If you aren't into blackmail, slave, or petplay might wanna avoid this. The last couple episodes play into a divided area of anime fans so without spoiling it kindly look past this if you are opposed to any common tropes in harem animes.

The season is a good way to get a few laughs and be uncomfortable in a oddly warm way. Nothing outwordly worthy of praise, but nothing that should demonize it either. A sorta "Meh" anime. Got 5+ hours to waste and you want a good dub? Look here if the previous doesn't turn you away!
