Though they portray war in very different styles, both series convey its true cruelty. If Vinland Saga moved you with its brutal, character-driven storytelling, 86 offers an equally powerful (and unique) look at conflict through themes of systemic discrimination, dehumanization, and social indifference. You don’t have to love mecha to enjoy it (i didn’t at first). Pro tip: Pay attention to the facial expressions of the characters in the series, (it is key to understand the character emotions in a deeper level)
