Firstly, let me just say it feels like I've fallen into some parallel dimension, seeing all the positive feedback this story gets when what I'm reading is total garbage.
Let's break it down into pros & cons:
Pros: The art is nice; that's true.
Okay, that's all.
Cons: The story is unoriginal, the narrative structure is atrocious, the characters lack any depth and frequently act inconsistently.
The FL herself is about the worst.
Starting out with the fixed idea that the world story will end like the novel and cannot be changed; what does she base this on? Nothing at all.
As she grows up in this new world she works

It's hard to think of much positive to say about this. It's also hard to put into words just how poor this is.
Characters are essentially one-dimensional. The plot blasts along at a ridiculous pace, probably trying to get to some action before anyone realises how shit it is. MC is the overpowered loser who leaves his abusive partner and goes it alone; a set up we've seen dozens of times and never once has it been a good idea. How is the MC so sheltered and braindead as to not realise how powerful they are? There is a later point where the MC and his former partner express their ... Jan 14, 2026

It's light hearted fluff overall, generally shallow and brief.
One event per chapter, really only making use of the two main characters. It's... fine, I guess. It's shallow and simple, but it's not particularly interesting. Girl likes boy, obviously. Boy comes to like girl. That's pretty much all there is. The pacing is fast, but believable as it only shows snapshots of their school life. The art is mostly not particularly good, it's passable mostly, poor occasionally. The content, while wholesome, feels like a waste of time and isn't exactly enjoyable or very fulfilling. Not really worth reading if you have anything else. Jan 5, 2026

Remarkably garbage.
My mind is boggled that this has so many positive reviews. Our MC is a gloomy teenage boy, who is nonchalantly described as the perfect superhuman... and somehow he just isn't aware of how exceptional he is. Readers are expected to find this believable, I guess? Our "antagonist" is a clinically insane girl who is/isn't his childhood friend, who is wildly obsessed with him and only wishes to ruin his life, apparently. Readers are expected to somehow like or hate this character; that bit isn't clear. One day MC decides to stop being insane girl's fiend; consequently shenanigans ensue... is it hilarious? Not in the least. Is ... Nov 1, 2025
The premise summary really tells you all there is to it. Boy comes back to Japan after living abroad, and the story follows his school life and events after he joins the calligraphy club and shows some talent for the art.
It presents the content in a knowledgable and rational way, but the actual content itself is, by and large, very, very boring. There are hints of high school romance angles, but it comes with roughly zero impact on the story as a whole, and just seems optional entirely. The art has a very particular style, which I could best describe as fairly simple, but clean. It's consistent ... Oct 22, 2025
Do you like stories wtih engaging characters? Interesting, well paced plots? Immersive worlds? Original ideas?
Me too. This has none of those. Main character is reborn in a fantasy world and granted one wish; "to be the strongest"... Except his wish isn't granted because he just gets to train under someone stronger. From then on he pulls out bullshit powers to win one-sided fights for the rest of the manga. No character displays anything that can be called growth, or even depth. MC himself has almost no personality whatsoever; he literally does what every other character tells him to. The pacing is ridiculous, the characters and story are unengaging, the ... Oct 20, 2025
How did this get an anime? It's awful.
MC is reincarnated into the villain of a game. Okay, a heavily used setup, but simple enough. Except... none of this really has any relevance to the story. Her being reincarnated could be entirely left out and the plot remain unchanged. Her "knowledge" of the game is never relevant or useful. Besides the extremely overdone notion of "baking sweets", she has no beneficial skills from her first life either. This in itself is just a character that can't do much; the problem is that the MC is not only boring, but also apparently delusional. She spends most of her time worrying ... Sep 18, 2025

Shallow, and, frankly, rather boring.
Our two title characters, Kobayashi and Sekiguchi, come across as immediately unlikable, and go from there. She is violent, hostile, irritable and unwilling to make any effort to be tolerant of anyone. He is overbearing, impulsive, forces his way into her space to be noticed and refuses to listen to any request for him to stay away. They both suck. Naturally this makes it hard to get behind the actions of either one, and I find myself hoping the support characters can provide something of value in the story instead. The art's basic, but adequate. That's about it. Not really worth reading. Jan 20, 2025

It's a dreadful story that somehow pretends to be a drama/romance. Ballsy move, honestly, given the actual content of the narrative.
The FL is a relatively uninteresting girl, born to a noble family, but whose life is ruined by a vindictive monster who is the ML. Our FL Annette, is the last member of a noble caste. She is the prisoner of Heiner, the current leader of the country after the coup that killed off or exiled that very same noble caste. The story would present them as being married, however this is an insane claim given the evident emotional torture, humiliation and disregard Heiner inflicts on ... Jan 4, 2025

I can't say this is particularly good so far.
The art is very sub-par, with some really bizarre proportions occasionally. The plot extremely weak and full of generic cliches. Basic premise is the whole "opposites attract" thing, where a shy introvert befriends a pair of apparently more extroverted girls; shenanigans ensue... sort of. Not much really happens at all. The incrementally building relationships are actually done pretty well, but through the cringeworthy medium of generic romcom manga tropes. It sets up the MC with two girls vying for his affection, but it seems a complete no-brainer of a decision: One is a closet otaku, sharing the same interest as him, ... |
