I had low expectations for this manhwa but it actually turned out quite good.
The characters are all interesting in their own ways, and they for the most part have depth. I enjoyed the family dynamic and the way their relationships improved over time. The art is also absurdly good, for the most part it sticks to really simple, almost stick figure like drawings, but it only serves to make the important moments stand out more. The comedy tends to be hit or miss, sometimes its really funny, somtimes its corny.
My complaints are that some of the characters don't really get much depth, sunwoo and
...
the rapper guy feel a little one dimensional. The main character also gets way too much help from the system, its not that he doesn't struggle, because he does, but sometimes the system can give him an out too easily.
Overall, its quite a solid manhwa, recommended.

This manhwa starts off pretty rough, I mean the first 50 chapters feel quite boring because there isn't any interesting development, and the main character is way too reliant on the system just doing everything for him. It was pretty bad, but as the story progressed it kept improving and now I think I can say it's a good manhwa.
The plot seems boring at first, standard game system in a murim story, whatever. But what separates this manhwa from the regular system manhwas is that it focuses heavily on the video game aspect of the system, rather than just shoehorning it in where it didn't
...
fit. There's save points, coin-based life system, turn-based combat, fighting game inspired motion inuts, the system itself seems very well thought out.
The main characters development is quite good as well, first it deteriorates as he grows reliant on the system and the extra lives, making him complacent, but later he grows and learns to be self reliant, as he actually starts developing feelings for his companions.
However, I will say that the side characters are quite underwhelming, for how important they are to the story. 150 chapters in and we don't even know the backstory for a single one of them, nor do we see more reasons to why they are so loyal to MC other than hes kind. The romance feels very forced as well, which is because it is, in fact, forced, it doesn't even seem like the MC actually loves the FML in that way, he just does it because the system tells him to, which is pretty frustrating to see.
Overall, if you can look past its flaws its quite a nice story, recommend it highly.

This is a great manhwa all around. Its quite edgy but its not just for shock value, there is actually a lot of interesting moral dilemma that it explores. I find the main character's philosophy very interesting, and I also find the way the secondary main character's own philosophy clashes with that, it's a cool dynamic that is well explored in my opinion.
The power system is also interesting, the way the characters in the manhwa take advantage of the system in ways it was not designed to be used, especially in combat, is so cool. It's clear that the powers have their limitations are not
...
too overpowered, which means the characters actually need to strategize and maximize its potential.
Overall, highly recommended manhwa.

The world building actually had potential and the power system is way more interesting that the generic stuff pumped out nowadays, there are some interesting stuff done with the manhwa especially the fact that the side characters actually get depth and development. But there are way too many things that bring the manhwa down that I cannot in good conscience say that it's good.
Firstly, most of the villains are completely one dimensional and just evil for no reason. They're also quite stupid as well.
Secondly, it does not feel like there is a stake for the main characters for the most part because they just breeze
...
through every challenge no problem.
Third, the romance in this manhwa is just atrocious, I hate the fact that main character just completely disregarded the redheaded girl, and the fact that she just allowed herself to be cucked without any real communication or discussion on the topic. The stupid relic harem is so annoying as well, it just feels like fan service for no reason.
Fourth, the fights are atrocious, there are some interesting ideas to be explored but the choreography and the ideas are so surface level it feels cheap and lazy.
Fifth, the manhwa is just not funny at all, it tries to be but it comes off very childish and immature, the reactions that the characters give are always annoying as hell.
I won't give it too low of a score because like I said, there are things that the manhwa does okay, and there was definitely potential with it, but its just bad for the most part.

This is not a good series at all... most of the characters in this manga seem very one-dimensional and stupid, it feels like the writer didn't know how to write unlikeable characters well so they just went with whatever they could think of. There were very many characters that fit this description but the worst one by far was the main character's sister. There is a limit to a person's stupidity before it can be considered a disability, but this person seems to bend it. The father too, it's actually insane how unrealistic some of these characters behave, it's not the abuse I have an
...
issue with, it's how it's displayed. I liked the mother character, her problems seemed more realistic and actually believable, and I even felt a little sympathy for her, but up to this point she's literally the only well written character in the entire series.
If you actually respect your time and don't want to suspend disbelief every single time there is human interaction shown on screen, please do not read this manga.
Edit: A 4 was way too generous, this is a 3 max.

Very funny manga, it never really takes itself too seriously. The girls are cute but also quite unlikeable at times because of their lunacy, but in my opinion that's the part of the charm, seeing how the main character reacts to the batshit crazy things the girls get up to is hilarious. There is a haremish element to the manga, but it's not as obnoxious as other "romcom" mangas because it really does not take itself very seriously, the manga does not bother to try any of the relationships "realistic", it just uses them to set up with jokes. I also like the fact that
...
the manga doesn't bother to make the main character physically attractive, he's fat and slightly ugly, unlike the weird secretly attractive "loner" type self inserts that most harem romcom mangas go for. He's definitely my favourite part of the manga, his decision making always subverts my expectations for some reason. The girls are quite manipulative and abusive, literally doing illegal activities like its nothing, but again, its not that serious.
Overall it's not the best manga ever, but its still quite funny and a great read in my opinion.

I have never played any of the persona games, so this is a perspective of someone who has no way to compare this to the original game.
Overall, Persona 4 is a good anime held back by major flaws. I love its premise and the message its trying to convey, the characters are interesting and dynamic, some of them follow the typical tropes but aren't completely consumed by them and are complex enough to stand on their own. The show has a good way of getting you emotionally invested with the characters. Action is pretty well animated and the world building is pretty interesting. If you're
...
here to know if this anime is worth your time, you can stop reading here, it is definitely worth your time and you should watch it. However, it still has some glaring flaws that I want to point out. Flaw 3 is a spoiler.
1. The Pacing:
Persona 4's pacing is not the best, as it can be inconsistent in terms of plot progression. Sometimes the episode feels like it is moving the quickly, and some episodes feel like they could have been condensed into one episode. I see people mention that the show has too much filler episodes, but personally I cannot agree with that because this show is supposed to be slice of life, the filler is part of the story and the character progression. The problem is that the episodes in genera justl move at a really weird pace. Not only that, but the way the show keeps jumping back and forth between dates can be quite confusing at times makes it a little annoying to memorize the timeline if you aren't paying attention to the date changes. That last part is not that big of a deal, its just that very often you might have to pause and go back a little on the videos to check the dates again, which can be annoying and can break immersion at times.
2. The Inconsistent Fight Scenes:
Normally I don't really care about this, but the inconsistency in strength among the personas can really make me annoyed sometimes, especially with the main character. Yu's specialty is supposed to be that he is able to summon more than one persona, but we rarely see it used unless its for special fights, and when they are used, they are so overpowered that it makes me wonder why Yu didnt use them earlier. The fights feel scripted and cliche, the crew struggles in the first half, but then randomly get stronger (mostly its just Yu pulling out a bullshit power that we knew he had but never used until the last moment) and wins. Personally I don't really care much about fights, but I know them well enough that I know it can get under people's skin when not done right. The animation is pretty decent though, and the main gimmicks of each fight is also fun and interesting, but much like Persona 4 anime in general, it feels like untapped potential.
3. POSSIBLE SPOILERS DO NOT READ:
This is the part where my review will delve into spoiler territory, and could be controversial, so if you have not watched the show yet I recommend you do not read this one. That said, I think the biggest mistake this show made was bringing Nanako back to life, while I could excuse many other flaws this show had, this one was the one I could not forgive. Nanako dying was an extremely dark and emotional moment in the show, the grief that tore apart the entire cast and made everyone so angry they almost killed the culprit was genuinely a strong emotional scene that was in my opinion one of the best scenes in the show. There was a genuine moral dilemma between killing the culprit and sparing him to listen to his side of the story, even I as the viewer wanted him dead because of the things I believed he did, but at the end when we managed to hear his side he was victim in the situation too. If Nanako stayed dead, there would still have been the dilemma of is he truly at fault for what happened if he believed he was saving her and he believed there was no other choice, and should the main characters forgive him. However, this dilemma was thrown out of the window, because Nanako, whose heart stopped, miraculously came back, not only that but all the emotional investment disappeared into thin air. I believe Nanako should have stayed dead, because it would have made the story narratively stronger, and I believe reviving her was a terrible mistake.
In conclusion, Persona 4 is a good anime that could have been better, it could have been 8/10 or even 9/10, but there are too many flaws holding it back, as an enjoyer, it makes me very frustrated. However, I still think its still an anime worth watching and rewatching, for its other more positive aspects.
