Every major event should feel intentional, not random or convenient. I value stories that respect buildup, consequence, and payoff; where themes are explored naturally through the narrative instead of being shoved in for dramatic effect.

Characters don’t need to be likable or morally good, but they must be understandable. I care about depth, motivation, and internal conflict. A character should feel like a real person shaped by their experiences, not a tool to move the plot forward. Even side characters should have meaning and presence, not just exist as empty NPCs that disappear once their role is done.

✦ 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐁𝐔𝐈𝐋𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆

The world should feel alive and reactive, not just a static backdrop for the story. I want to see how events affect the environment, society, and the people living in it. A well-built world has its own logic, history, and consequences; things continue to exist and change even when the main characters aren’t on screen.

✦ 𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐀𝐂𝐓

I value anime that leave a lasting emotional impression, not just momentary shock or forced sadness. The impact should linger, stay attached to memory, and invite reflection even long after finishing it. If a series is fully rewatchable and can be discussed from multiple angles without losing its weight, that’s a huge plus for me.

✦ 𝐂𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝐀𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐘

An anime should have a clear artistic identity and vision. I appreciate consistency in tone, style, and direction; something that feels deliberate from start to finish. Bonus points if it completely avoids generic formulas, doesn’t rely on trends, and isn’t afraid to commit to its own ideas, even if they’re uncomfortable or unpopular.


Bonus points if it has:
