Polygon has become a homogenized machine where everything they make is made the exact same way with the same aesthetic only the effort they put into making that feel earned just diminishes with each one, which doesn't really work when the manga is one of the most beautiful and unique-looking things out there. It whitewashes some of the main characters' personalities and totally restructures the introduction, just losing anything that was compelling about the manga's storytelling.

It's an outsourced season by DEEN rather than A1 so the visuals are very clunky and not good (though also not OPM S2 level bad) and the arc that's been going for the first 6 episodes out now is kind of an overall low for the story. I like season 1 and half-like season 2 so I have love for the series, but some of it is pretty poo poo.

Good stuff. I still need to pick Kill La Kill back up. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is number 5 in my favorites list. Nia Teppelin is also my favorite anime character ever. I would say YYH is 22 in my top 50. My top 5 goes 5: Gurren Lagann 4: Rakudai Kishi no Cavalry 3: The Love Live! Series 2: Tennis no Ouji-sama and 1: Gosick

I told my buddy who said "I'm going through a faze of watching shows like Rakudai" I just said fucking just rewatch YYH. He was like "I just only like the tournament arc." I almost beat his ass and fucked his sister.
