You're a writer, aren't you? You understood Kimi no na Wa's flaws very well. I watched it years ago, and only recently rewatched it because I wanted to remember how the writer solved the many problems in its premise, and it's just... bad. Almost every beat is contrived. The focus is all over the place. There's almost no development where there should be a lot. The whole story could be told in a single 20 minute OVA. Aside from Musubi, I didn't learn anything because there was no message being told. What a letdown. I was a really dumb kid back then, for rating it so highly.
