Described by critics as "Dead on arrival," "The 3rd worst website I've ever seen," "A microcosm of everything wrong with society," and "A melancholic dialectical website of seminarian and mercurial antics for [one]'s weebsession," I'm proud to announce the launching of the new number 1 source of unbiased Anime (and related) news that the mainstream media is too scared to touch:
Professional cat petter and affectionist. Top tier belly rubber. Masters in chin scritches with an emphasis in paw massages. Bachelors in snuggling with a minor in litter box maintenance.
Metal music listener. Economist in training. Wannabe beer chugger. Nap lover. Mediocre chef. Trivia night's least valuable player. Rock-Paper-Scissors tournament champ. Poor wedding dancer, computer breaker, above average hugger. Will lose your disc golf discs. Bad at climbing - fantastic at falling. Skiing (cross country & downhill), sling shooting, disc golf, biking, bouldering, board games, and Nintendo games for funsies.
Currently watching: Ted Lasso, some anime.
Currently Playing: Risk of Rain 2, Tears of the Kingdom
Currently listening to: Annisokay, Mercenary, Babymetal, Enter Shikari, Franchouchou
2026 goals
- Learn some more new cooking recipes
- Keep downhill skiing
- Squats. Lots of them. Again
- Get the "business" up and running soon
- Soft-exit from the beef market
- Keep learning Japanese
2025 goals:
- Learn downhill skiing or improve at cross country skiing
- Continue learning Japanese
- Keep working at the guitar
- Learn a few new cooking recipes
- Participate in at least one disc golf tournament
- Lotta squata
- Pet a cat every single day
- Learn to shoot a gun
- Skiing A: The weather wasn't the most cooperative, but I did downhill ski back in March. I bought a set of skiis that Spring and went at the first snowfall this December, and plan to get back out there again when it snows some more.
- Guitar D: I tried early in the year fairly regularly, but I just wasn't improving at all. It eventually got side lined with other projects. Time to pack that thingup and sell it.
- Cooking B+: I did learn a few new recipes, but this year was a lot more repetition to get better at the ones I knew so I wouldn't waste so much time prepping. Overall it's a success imo
- Disc Golf Tourney D-: I procrastinated earlier in the year, but I fully intended to sign up for one in October. Unfortunately, my mom then wanted to have her birthday party/dinner at the same time. Next year fo sho
- Squats C: I was inconsistent early in the year, but much better towards the end. My butts starting to look good (I think)
- Pet Cats Erryday F: I missed a few days when I was visiting friends out of town :( 360/365 isn't good enough
- Gun Shooting C: I did take a class on using a gun, but I never bought one or practiced any beyond that. I guess it's a start???
2024 goals:
- Get better at bouldering
- Learn to stop / get better at ice skating
- Get better at cross country skiing
- Keep learning new cooking recipes
- Learn something new (probs guitar)
- Learn some card tricks
- Learn the alphabet in sign language / learn Japanese
- take a big vacation!!!
- Win a sweatshirt from FAL
- Pet 50 different cats
Goal Results:
Bouldering: A+ I went bouldering frequently this past winter, and started up again this December. I showed easy improvement over the year, and continued to do some basic grip training during the warmer months
Ice Skating: - The weather never got cold enough in Jan-March, and the ice hasn't frozen thick enough this year. Technically I failed the goal, but it was 100% outside of my control
XC Skiing: B The weather didn't cooperate here, either. I did manage to go a couple of times, but it melted too quickly.
Cooking: A I learned a lot of new recipes over the 1st 1/2 of the year. The second half was largely practicing those recipes. Lots of failures (even when following the directions to a "t"), but some successes as well.
Learn Something New: D I finally got a guitar in the summer, but it took a backseat to other obligations pretty much all year. The few times I did try it things went horribly. I haven't quit on it yet (and picked it back up in the past week or so), but I definitely do as much as I had planned at the start
Card tricks: C+ There was one card trick I really wanted to learn where you someone move a card alongside the back of your fingers, but I could never find it. I did find a couple of other simpler tricks that I got down pretty well, so I won't complain in that regard, but I ultimately haven't even attempted what I really set out to learn.
Sign Language: B The original plan was to learn sign language, but I flipped it to learning Japanese when I decided to take a trip to Japan. Learning the sign language letters went well enough, but I'm hardly at a point of using it day-to-day. Same for Japanese. Things went well enough initially, but I kind of hit a wall. That said, I've been very consistent at spending at least a little bit of time to study up on it.
Vacation: A+ I took a trip to Japan in October and November and it was awesome! Some minor bumps here and there, but ultimately I did/saw nearly everything I planned on. 10/10 would go again.
FAL: F 983 in Fall 23; 5148 in Winter 23; 2215 Spring 24; Top 500 Fall 24 (most likely). Whatever. I'm going to be frank, I lost interest in studying up prior to FAL seasons. Also, MAL cancelled the Summer FAL, so I had one less opportunity to win it (not that I was going to). F for failure, but also F for I don't really give an F
Cats Pet: F My heart is broken. I pet (I believe) about 30 different cats, well short of my goal. I have done a disservice to the feline nation and will have to live with this shame forever
it’s a reference to aikatsu: starway to the future. the movie is about characters from the original aikatsu pursuing things they’re passionate about and the characters’ lives as adults. on my bluesky profile, i’m saying that i’m an advocate for people pursuing their passions and that i’m also an advocate for an education system that gives people opportunities to pursue their passions (this 2nd part makes more sense if you watch the original aikatsu).
i like the original aikatsu and starway to the future! i would say that i recommend you watch starway to the future, but i don’t think you’ll be that emotionally invested in it since you haven’t watched the original aikatsu.
Great now that I've seen you again. Lot of horrible things happening in the world because of Trump, both what he's been doing internationally and to his own people. But it's good that people are at least fighting back.
Sometimes, it's also nice to be reminded of the supportive community Forum Games has despite all the inane drama that happens elsewhere on MAL.
Pretty much this the past couple of weeks
I see. My dog likes the snow but hates the cold. She runs back toward the door right away once she's done xD
It hasn't so far, not sure if my thermometers are accurate though. A newer one that was just bought gives me a reading of 95 degrees when I wake up when I think my baseline temperature is in the 96 range, but my older ones seem to read a higher than normal peak temperature for me, like 98.6 or slightly higher than that.

culture wars is better than class wars to anti woke fans
