Oh don’t worry, I’ll watch all the recommendations you gave me, or at least most of them lol, as soon as I get some free time, because right now… I’m super busy.
Oh, if there’s a genius like that behind it, then I’ll definitely watch it sooner or later. I really love Gainax’s style, and I like Khara’s too, so yeah, it’s decided, I’ll watch it one day.
Oh… another mecha lol, you really seem to be a big fan of those, huh?
Alright, noted. I’ll still check out the 80s version since it was directed by Anno, but only when I’m in the mood for some retro anime haha.
Yeah, I saw the story behind Devilman Crybaby’s creation and yeah, it’s SUPER old lol. OH, and Go Nagai is an absolute legend, especially because he used to make completely wild stuff for his era lol, he was a real outlaw.
As for my favorite work of his, I’d say Devilman. I feel like it brings together all his craziness and his writing talent better than any of his other works.
Even though his most iconic one is Grendizer (and honestly, I’ve never watched it…).
Wbu?
That is true, a lot of the romance are same old same old, similar stuff.
I have seen way too many, give me an example of what kind of romance anime you usually enjoy and I can recommend you some good ones based on that.
Yeah 48h days would be nice indeed xD
Oh I have not seen much stuff from 90s, do let me know how those go for you though!
Oh what have you been rewatching?
the second is softsubs but not better.
Ordian is a very cryptic and surreal show, it takes what VIRUS does and puts it on crack, combined with bad subs it becomes very hard to make sense of.
tell me what "the self confidence of Kananase Yuu" means when you finish.
Okay, I see. And even if you had told me that Yu Yu is better, I don’t think I would’ve believed it haha, I love HxH too much. For me, it’s just the ultimate shonen. Everything is perfect, the story, the plotlines, the characters, the animation, the OSTs… basically everything you could want. And yeah, so I’ll watch Yu Yu Hakusho up to the tournament arc, and then I’ll give you my opinion!
Hmm, I see. But just for clarification, I’m not really a big fan of the mecha genre. Of course I’ve seen a few and I admit there are some absolute bangers among them, shoutout to Evangelion and Gurren Lagann of course, but if the anime you're talking about is also old… I don’t know. I’ll watch the beginning then, and decide afterward if I’ll continue or not.
Ah cool! I also liked FLCL, I found it really goofy and the animation was amazing. I really liked the art direction, but well, since it was produced by Gainax, that doesn’t surprise me lol. Oh, and I haven’t seen the newer seasons… lucky me then lol.
Yeah that’s exactly it, thanks for understanding haha.
Oh, and why didn’t you continue?
Okay I see. I also love Devilman Crybaby, I’d almost consider it a masterpiece. The anime teaches you certain things about our world in so few episodes and makes you feel so many emotions… it’s really a masterclass. Oh, and personally, I’ve never seen the 90s version, but I’ve heard about it.
But I do like romance a lot and I do watch a lot of romance which often gets very very repetitive at times but I guess I have just gotten used to it? So I don't mind as much.
Yes! I do love anime a lot in general haha.
Yeah finding time is the real struggle specially lately, I have been only getting busier but well whenever I have any free time I do watch anime so somehow I am able to manage.
Thanks! It's been fun indeed!
What about you though? Are you watching anything recently?
i suppose we don't get to pick and choose what gets remastered, a lot of masters get disposed of because they don't expect to be using them again, Iria Zeiram's bluray only happened when they found the master by accident in an empty office while looking for something else. there was also news a while back about a group who preserved masters having to potentially dispose of them, because they weren't claimed by legal owners, key the metal idol's master was being kept there.

this torrent is new, havent seen it before, ill be downloading this myself. if you are refering to this one, all old anime is 480p i do not think you can find better than that.
after that watch the interview i uploaded on my channel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqswirACx28
Cool! Same here, keep me updated, I can’t wait to hear your thoughts on it hehe.
Oh personally, I've never seen Soul Eater. Would you recommend it to me? I heard the ending of the anime is bad, is that true?
Yeah, I knew Yu Yu Hakusho is a manga by Togashi, but it’s just so old that I never really got the chance to watch it.
And yeah, I hear you, and thanks for that, one day I’ll definitely watch it, I’ll keep you updated. But in your opinion, between that and HxH, which one is the better anime?
Oh, I love hidden gems, so if you say it’s worth it, I’ll watch it sooner or later. Though I have so many anime waiting that I might have to sort them out soon haha.
Oh, since you mentioned psychological horror, I’m noting it right away! Since it’s by the same director as Gurren Lagann, is it a mecha anime?
Speaking of mecha, have you ever seen FLCL?
Oof, so many compliments, it must really be amazing then. But why have I never heard of it before?
Ahhh, I’ve heard a lot about Vampire Hunter, but since you’re recommending it, that’s finally a good reason to watch it. I’ll let you know when I do, but I’m afraid it won’t be anytime soon.
Don’t worry, I love that kind of series. As long as there’s humor, whether it’s edgy or not, it’s perfect for me. So yeah, I’ll definitely start with Young GTO, and after I finish it and the original anime, I’ll watch Be-Bop High School. Your description sold me, it kinda sounds like Golden Boy… do you know it?
For the rest too, I’ll see when I get the chance to watch them.
Oh, I see, so I’ll start with a modern classic. Have you ever seen Devilman Crybaby?
Hehe, I can’t wait to see season 2
Oh I see, I guess it's a hit or miss situation then.
Oh wow okay, well it's decided then, I'll watch them soon enough. Hopefully I enjoy them just as much as the original anime haha.
Haha well I am just used to watching seasonals often I guess? Though I did pick up a bit too many this time around so it's been hard ngl.
Yeah that's how I was like to until I just decided to commit so here I am lol.
Oh I see, well no spoilers but I still have hope in it ending good. But I guess I'll find out when we get there.
I am really enjoying the remake though, like genuinely it's been fun!
Yeah I assumed it'll be a more new independent story with newer characters, considering just how many characters die in s1. Watching the trailer, does seem like it'll be that way. I am honestly hyped for it! Hopefully, it turns out be as good as s1 :D
Oh? So is it not like a remake but a different story in same world or something?
That's interesting though, I'll try watching it soon!
Oh I just enjoy emotional stories, doesn't have to be necessarily psychological. But yeah I have heard SO MANY good things about serial lain experiments from so many ppl that it's definitely been on my radar for quite sometime now. I do plan on watching it at some point soon for sure!
You can recommend any anime you want! I'll keep a note of them and check them out sooner or later, whenever I can spare the time.
It's just right now, I am a bit preoccupied with just how many seasonals I picked up and One Piece haha. But I'll eventually get to them so feel free to recommend any you like!
It's for sure a kind of anime that can totally make you see things from entirely new perspective and grow from it. It was a lot like that for me as well so I can totally see why it did that for you.
I see I see, I don't know much about his other works but Evangelion was definitely amazing and very unique as well!
Oh, I have only watched remake so I have yet to see those characters you mentioned but maybe you can give remake a try then?
Because animation and overall quality wise, to me at least, it seems amazing and it does skip some fillers and stuff so maybe you'll enjoy it more.
I see being spoiled on ending definitely does not feel nice... well I still think remake might be worth a try for you and it might also feel refreshing to see the story with a new animation and such.
As for me, since I started with remake for now I want to keeping go with that, once they fully adapt everything and all. Then I might consider going back to og to watch missed fillers and such but first I just wanna watch the main story with remake's pacing and vibe.
Haha I see, the latest ep just introduced Ukyo, she's a nice pick, pretty cute as well!
You're welcome.
Yup, if you like that kind of anime, Perfect Blue will be one of the best movies you've ever seen, it will definitely leave a mark on you.
Oh… that’s too bad, but I get it. Naruto is super long, even without the fillers (more than 300 episodes), so yeah, it makes sense given your situation.
Yes, I’m watching Gachiakuta, and honestly, I really like it. It’s been a long time since we’ve had such a gem of a shonen of that kind, I love absolutely everything about it, it really fascinates me hehe.
Oh and about the resemblance with Fire Force and Soul Eater, It's because the author of Gachiakuta was actually the student of the guy who made those two. She even worked as his assistant on Fire Force, which is why their art styles look so similar.
Oh, no problem! I also really appreciate the fact that you listen and keep the conversation going.
Yup, HxH is the ultimate shonen for me. The anime basically has no flaws, or at least I can’t find any. It’s such a shame there’s no continuation :(.
As for Yu Yu Hakusho… I’ve never watched it.
Oh, I see. In that genre, there are some real hidden gems that most people don’t know about, so I get what you mean. And among those, which ones left the biggest impact on you?
Haha, I get it. There was a time during summer when I only watched retro anime, but I stopped for different reasons. I plan to continue though, because there are classics like GTO that I absolutely need to watch.
Okay, Just tell me the type you want, and I’ll make them as good as possible for you.
Yes, I watched it too, right when it came out actually. And just like you, I had already read that arc in the manga a long time ago, but the movie made me rediscover it in the best way possible! I honestly found it PERFECT: the symbolism, the animation (you know during the movie’s climax, that long fight scene… I couldn’t even blink LOL, that’s exactly the kind of style I love), the visuals, the OSTs, even the opening at the beginning had me obsessed for a long time lmao.
And yeah, the next part is definitely the manga’s prime, and with everything that’s gonna happen in the 5 volumes they’re adapting for season 2… the anime-only fans are NOT ready. It’s gonna break the internet haha
I actually have no idea on what's coming in season 2, but I am looking forward to it! Hopefully they deliver well on that as well :D
Oh is there a newer version of Evangelion? If so, I don't know but I have only seen the original and well it's in my favorites so that alone speaks a lot haha.
But yeah, I feel like it's one of the best anime out there that managed to show the real fears and struggles of depression.
I have never seen an anime do such an amazing job at portraying those sad emotions, it felt so genuinely real.
The most imporant part for me though were the characters, each and every character had so much depth to their personalities, their fears, good sides and dark sides.
They felt so much more human like..I could relate to them so much...because it felt so realistic. So yeah that's why it's in my favorites, I really appreciate anime that can catch me emotionally haha.
As for Ranma, I only seen the remake but I have heard good things about the og version too. Remake's animation is super cute tho! So I love it a lot hehe.
It's just a great mix of really good comedy and super cute romance and I really love all the characters! Akane is my favorite though.
What about you? Which versions have you seen and why you liked them?
Yeah, you're right, thanks a lot!!
All the anime I put in my favorites are truly there for a reason. If I had to make a top 10, they'd already be in it.
Yep, NGE is a unique experience, for me it's still an unmatched masterpiece in Japanese animation. It's also one of the rare anime where I genuinely related to the characters; they felt deeply realistic, it’s crazy.
And honestly, even if it's the most popular anime in the world, a lot of people on MAL told me they've never watched it, so it doesn’t surprise me anymore. But you really should see it, it’s a unique anime too. It pretty much shaped my whole childhood, I love it so much. What’s most impressive is the character development, some of them are written with surgical precision, everything is crafted perfectly, you’ll see haha.
Hmm, you should definitely watch Perfect Blue. I bet you’ve never seen a movie like that, it dives into psychological breakdowns in the purest way, it’s a real masterpiece.
NHK personally touched me. It’s an anime that helped me on my personal journey; it felt like it was talking directly to me. It helped me at a time when I was at my lowest, so yeah, it deserves its spot in my favorites.
Yeah, Takopi’s is disturbing, but that’s the point. I could explain why the anime hooked me, but that would be way too long lol. I really recommend watching it, it’s excellent.
Yeah, now that you mention it, that’s true, but I just build my favorites list based on the emotion I felt watching the anime, what it made me feel inside, so yeah, it’s a mix of everything.
OF COURSE. It’s easily my movie of the year. It even got nominated for the 2025 Oscars recently, like… that’s insane. Before I go into detail, did you watch it? And if yes, what did you think of it?
I totally get it, I was the same, don’t worry. But I’m sure one day you’ll manage to make a choice.
Speaking of choices, who are your favorite artists? Or what kind of music do you listen to?
I recently watched Cyyberpunk, it was great!
