Hey there, Stranger. I joined MAL in 2016, but I have been watching anime and reading manga on-and-off since way back... My first anime ever was this classic, thanks to my brother monopolizing the TV when we were younger and forcing me to watch the series with him. Eventually I started getting into some shows myself, and here we are today. My life revolves around music and videogames, so you'll probably find me constantly updating and decorating my profile with snippets of that here and there. My lists (especially my manga list) still need to be updated and reorganized.

Generally speaking, I try to watch/read as many different things as possible before forming an opinion on anything. I don't discriminate against genres or themes in themselves; I've found hidden gems in the seemingly insipid catalogues of mainstream shounen and CGDCT, just as I've discovered subpar 'cerebral' sci-fi and avant-garde/experimental productions recommended by some random elitist rankings online. I pick stuff to read/watch in a very simple way: by reading the synopsis. If it interests me, I give it a go. That said, I do have a soft spot for mythology and Japanese folklore, coming-of-age stories, old-school shoujo, slice-of-life-ish works, and the rarely well-done horror in anime (but usually great in manga).
