ごきげんよう、貴婦人!

Which Ghost in the Shell themes got your attention the most?

Before SAC was aired, I was introduced to the franchise via the game adaptation from 1998. Toshihiro Kawamoto did a great job adapting Masamune Shirow's manga to those hand-drawn cutscenes.

Other than that, I'll be exploring lots of unconventional cyberpunk in the foreseeable future, including Private Eye and more. More meaning other stories representing another genre or subgenre.

I haven't explored existentialism and fate in a while so I might as well read Saga too. More space operas aside from UC Gundam and Star Wars would be great.

Hi! I'm glad you appreciate them. I was really embarrassed that I hadn't read nearly as much manga as you, and that you had already read a lot of what I have as well, but I really tried my best, so I'm very glad it worked out! I think TPN has a very strong start as well. I hope you enjoy the rest of it! Have a lovely day as well.

Hi!! Thank you for the great suggestions for the Secret Santa! I started with Rage of Bahamut first since I could finish it the fastest, and I really enjoyed it! Honestly, I've wanted to get into more fantasy anime it's just hard to find great stuff in a really oversaturated genre, so this was a real treat. I loved the characters and their dynamic, and the whole anime had a really cinematic quality to it. The music added a lot to it as well; I love orchestral soundtracks, so this was the perfect pick for me!
I'm also really excited to watch the other suggestions you gave me. They sound really interesting, and I appreciate how much thought you put into making your suggestions that cover a lot of my interests. Thank you so much again!

> Have you been reading manga since a long time
I mean, you'd have to define "a long time" but I've been reading it consistently since 2019. I've slowed down a lot because of my job, though.

> I can breeze through chapters faster than I can watch anime episodes. Committing to a few manga chapters a day feels manageable and keeps me engaged without overwhelming me, which is why I haven't taken a break from it nowadays
Exactly this. Anime feels like a big commitment to me and I said something very similar to another person I'm talking right now.

Ah, I differ. I don't think anime and manga are incomparable because they're different mediums. Manga easily bests anime and that's because it's only the most generic trash that manages to adapt itself into an anime, with exceptions, of course.

That is a good goal. I'm always happy to see people read more manga.
And I see you're like me - less anime, more manga. It's because of the better content, right?

-Sonal- May 2, 2024 6:20 PM
So you're currently reading manga, or is it a complete full stop for both anime and manga?
-Sonal- May 1, 2024 7:48 PM
Ah, thank you! Before delving into donghua, I have to warn you - almost all of it comes from one company (Tencent) and most of them aren't directed well. IF you aren't a nit-picker, then you'll enjoy the shows. However, if you're someone who focuses on a linear plot progression, plot-holes, janky story telling, you may not enjoy most shows. Why not give one of them a go and see for yourself?

I'd highly recommend Wan Sheng Jie.

There's also Korean anime, if that interests you.

I think the positioning of the images in your bio is quite unique. Most people put them either opposite to each other (like me) or below one another.

Which of my favs caught your eye?
