in essence baan is a coming of age story. it may be short compared to normal anime but the impact it has on viewer in just 18 minutes is incredible. Baan employs show not tell in a way i have not seen, where both future japan , thai mythology inspired isekai world feel like lived in. it feels like we have been introduced to vast world and had a short yet wonderful glimpse of it. It especially it close to me since i also relate with the journey of finding home a place to belong and it coincides with my journey as well.
