Sorry for the late reply. I've just been busy with life lately.

Yes, he seems like that cool guy that everyone loves. I just vibe with him a lot. I get Gilgamesh from Fate vibes from him too.

I see. I think I will finish Season 2 first, since I already started it. Is there any possibility of more seasons coming out?

Whoa, that is my least favourite thing about anime. Unfortunately, though, the majority of series never get finished.

Yes, I still enjoy shounen action, but I miss the element of surprise; sadly, most stories seem to be copy-and-paste. The animation is the only thing that keeps improving.

Exactly, the isekai theme is so saturated; they say InuYasha was the first real isekai, but I am not sure. There are a lot id debates about it. The problem with isekai is that they are always recycling the same concepts over and over. One thing that irritates me is that most people just accept fate after they have been ''isekai'd'', and there is no reaction from the people living in the different world either. I liked the first season of GATE because, actually, the people living in that different world were actually shocked when they saw the military and their weapons.

Hahaha, yeah, Magi definitely deals with a lot of dark themes. Yes, I believe that this is a positive aspect of Magi; they make an effort to give the characters more nuance.

Yeah, definitely. As long as the show is good, I don't care too much about the genre. I think generally I am into unpredictable shows; one way or another, after you watch hundreds of series, it seems like there is always a similar element in most shows, so I am happy when I am not able to predict the plot, hehe.

I know these were different times and different experiences. I always feel nostalgic about when I used to watch series on the TV. There was a schedule you had to stick to. I recall that I used to watch all of my anime back-to-back; I believe it began with Naruto, Yu Yu Hakusho, InuYasha, and Bleach.

I think it took them a while to realise they were in love. From Inuyasha's perspective, he had been asleep for 50 years, and when he woke up, he learnt that Kikyo had died. He needed time to process all of that while also developing feelings for Kagome. And Kagome was only 15, right? So honestly, she acted pretty normally for someone her age.

I still feel bad for Kikyou to this day, haha

I like to think that since Kagome is her reincarnated self, she's like her if she got to live the life she deserved to have from the start with a loving family and no priestess duties....so that sort of makes me feel better about her tragic end.
That's a really great perspective, to be honest. I hadn't thought about it that way before, but it makes complete sense. The reason I see them a bit differently is because of that one episode focused just on Kikyo and Kagome; it's kind of like a dream sequence. Kagome is trying to understand both of their purposes and figure out who she really is. By the end of the episode, she says something like, ''I am my own self, and I will make my own choices''. So even though she's Kikyo's reincarnation, I've never been able to see them as the same person.

Honestly, the episode where Kikyou is wearing the lipstick for the first time is one of the saddest episodes. She really just wanted to be an ordinary girl but was forced to carry the burden of a priestess. Do not get me wrong. I always shipped Kagome x InuYasha harder, but after finding out Kikyou's past, I can't help but feel for her. I feel like she deserved better, but I loved that the author followed the tragic path because it made her character so unforgettable.

But in the end, Kagome was always the one who truly believed in Inuyasha. Even when people tried to trick her, she trusted that he wouldn’t do something to hurt her. That's something Kikyo couldn't really do; yes, she was deceived, but Kagome never lost faith in him. That kind of trust shows how strong their bond is. Honestly, Kagome and Inuyasha just feel like perfect soulmates. :'''))

I absolutely love the new Ranma! I can't wait for season 2 either; it's peak comedy, no doubt about it. Haha, I won't spoil anything for you! There are just so many great moments. I really hope they adapt the whole thing this time. The manga is hilarious; you should definitely check it out. Have you seen her other famous series, Urusei Yatsura? It's on my plan to watch. Right now, I am reading her most recent manga, MAO. It totally gives off Inuyasha vibes. Some people don't like it for that reason, but honestly, that's exactly why I love it!

I went to the World Expo in Osaka a few months ago, and they had a whole section dedicated to her called Rumic World, with tons of merch from her series. It really showed how much respect she gets in Japan. Lum from Urusei Yatsura was literally everywhere, even in the underground security announcements, which was wild! It's honestly incredible how she managed to create not just one but three massively successful series, and that's not even counting her other hits. For me, she easily deserves the title of the most successful mangaka. And the fact that she's still creating new work today is just amazing

I love how everything in InuYasha was well thought out, even him getting the healing sword so he could learn the lesson!! Amazing.

Haha, if it was actually canon, it would be so sad because that means InuYasha and Kagome were sealed away for so many years. So unfair, haha. I agree.

Yeah, it really is unfair, especially since childhood is such a vulnerable time in our lives. But unfortunately, life doesn’t always play fair. That said, what really matters is that you've made it through and are looking ahead, and that's something to be proud of.

Eevee will always be one of the cutest haha. Oh, you have a lot of favourites, haha. Snorlax is the cutest, in my opinion. just because he is fluffy. As for the coolest pokemon it has to be Umbreon, and the prettiest pokemon for me is Alolan Ninetales

Especially Fukai Mori, Dearest and Every Heart. And Diamond from the Final Act too.
ALL ICONIC AND PERFECT, WELL DONE!!! I dunno if any series can beat InuYasha's when it comes to music.

Aww, same. My IRL friends only know very basic stuff, except for my partner; he is as much of a weeb as me. So we get to watch seasonal anime together :')

Oh, I see. Then I have to finish watching it :)

Oh, Sinbad is one of my anime crushes, lol. I genuinely want to finish season 2 so I can get to Sinbad's story, or do you think I can start watching that one straight away?

I had no idea that he had his own manga, to be honest. That makes sense.

Honestly, only 2 episodes in, but I think it will really be light-hearted. That's pretty much everything, hehe. I am somewhat like you, though I don't watch certain kinds of shows these days. I believe that I have truly come to enjoy more calm series, such as drama or slice of life. I was all about action when I first started watching, but I suppose that's normal and that most people go through these stages.

Don't even tell me about it; InuYasha's soundtrack is everything. So many great OSTs, OPs, and EDs. Honestly, I agree with the fillers, but back then we used to watch InuYasha on the TV. It didn't bother me; I was all day waiting to watch it and didn't even know what fillers were lol But I guess nowadays it would be a bit different. And yes, I absolutely love the final arc, especially that last scene where InuYasha pulls Kagome out of the well. 😭 I hadn’t read the manga then, so I had no clue what was happening. I seriously thought Kagome would never make it back to him! Such an emotional and sweet moment. I was literally sobbing my eyes out, lol.

I see your favorite characters are Inuyasha and Sesshomaru! Ngl, you have impeccable taste 👌👌👌
Thanks 😭. I also like InuYasha slightly more because I love his personality. I thought he was pretty funny, tbh.

Personally, Rumiko is truly a genius; her storytelling is incredibly captivating. The romance in InuYasha was too complex, and I think many of us were too young back then to fully appreciate it. Kikyou often gets unfairly hated on, but she is one of the most tragic characters; all she ever hoped for was to be an ordinary woman, yet she was forced to exist as a corpse while watching her love move on. It's hard to blame anyone in that tangled situation, including Kagome and InuYasha.

Ranma shares that same charm but with a lighter, more comedic tone. I only recently watched and read it and absolutely enjoyed every moment; the manga especially is fantastic. OFC, it gave me InuYasha vibes.

But yeah I must say.... whenever a Sesshomaru episode happened I was so happy lol. He's just the definition of cool lol. Jaken and Rin are funny too.
I know !!!!!! Girl!!! Sesshomaru is/was everyone's ultimate crush. I would abandon the modern world for him in a heartbeat.

Would you say Yashahime is worth watching? I've been scared to watch it so far... xD
Hahaha, I get it. If you are watching it for the nostalgia, go for it; just try to keep an open mind, or it might get a little frustrating. There are some really sweet, emotional moments, and hearing the old OSTs again hit me hard. I definitely teared up a few times. It felt like reliving my childhood. That said, some parts were kind of annoying. The pacing felt rushed, and a few things weren’t explained well. I honestly think Moroha should’ve been the main character; she had so much potential. Towa, Sesshomaru’s daughter, wasn’t terrible, but her choices were all over the place, and she stressed me out a bit. lol

He's kinda like the "mom" of the group lol surrounded by edgy idiots xD Yusuke is my second fav in YYH though, his roasts in the dub are legendary.
Loool haha, that is so true. Yusuke is also my second favourite :')

Oh, I am so sorry to hear. Awwn, that is so sad, but it is nice you are reconnecting now. Pokemon is so much fun even to this day. What is your favourite pokemon?

My favourite :'''')))))

Jellybeanx Jul 15, 3:32 AM
Yeah, so did you like Magi season 2?

I need to check this one out. I am currently watching ''With You and the Rain'', and there is also an odd animal in there; it seems like it will be really sweet. Do you prefer slice-of-life anime or action? Or something else?

Yeah, I guess so xD

That is very lovely, aww! I think the InuYasha dub is one of the best out there. The characters, especially InuYasha, were given a great deal of personality by the VAs. I prefer his English voice over his Japanese voice. His Japanese VA is the same as Ussop from One Piece, which is a bit weird to me, since they both give extremely different vibes. lol

Aww!! I love both series, and Kurama is my favourite YYH character as well. But InuYasha is way too nostalgic for me. It has a special place in my heart.

Wow, trust me, it's strange to me that so many people consider JJK to be an old gem, but it's been five years since it was released. Time really does fly.

That is sweet; you grew up watching anime with your sis. :')
Jellybeanx Jul 10, 4:20 AM
Hhehe no worries!

I enjoyed Magi S1 enough to want to watch the rest of the series. There are some really good characters like Sinbad, :p and the plot is pretty straightforward. Yeah, the MCs are pretty likeable as well. Magi isn't particularly difficult to follow, so it's an easy and enjoyable story, I would say.

Oh, really? What a shame. I wonder if the third season will eventually get adapted.

Oh, I haven't read that far after season 1, but we will see how it goes. I think so far the adaptation has been pretty fair. They hardly leave anything out, and some of the anime scenes are exactly like the ones in the manga panels. I hope to start it soon as well. I am sure it will be great. I believe that most anime series are always slightly better than their manga for the majority of action-packed battle shounen series because the fight scenes and flashy animation always add something to their shallow writing (most of the time), and I am not a shounen hater, btw lol. At least, I felt like this about Jujutsu Kaisen and Black Clover, which are somewhat similar to Dandadan.

Yeah, I also thought it was a worse version of Mirai Nikki hahaha xD That sounds about right.

Haha, exactly. That's the reason! It really depends on your mood. I think that's what makes watching seasonal anime so fun; you can always stumble upon some hidden gem you would never watch otherwise. It could be something super niche, like a hilarious workout anime (How heavy are the dumbbells you lift) or even a dog-walking anime (I watched these lol) There is always a bit of everything for everyone, I guess, lol.

There are definitely a lot of great older shows too, but it's funny because I am not even sure what counts as "old" anymore. I grew up with Inuyasha and Yu Yu Hakusho; I guess those are ancient by now? Then I look at Death Note and think, ''That’s not that old,'' but apparently people are calling Jujutsu Kaisen an old gem already! I guess it's all about perspective (or maybe I am just too old :'D).

Oh, I noticed you've been here since 2012, so are you more old-school? At first, I actually thought you might be a zoomer. Is that the case?
Jellybeanx Jul 8, 4:22 AM
I watched the first season of Magi a while back, and I’ve had the second season on hold since then; I just haven’t had the time to get back into it. Is that the one that focuses on Sinbad or something? I remember thinking it’d be nice to finish the series eventually, especially since I really liked Sinbad as a character. :p

And yeah, I’ve been reading the Dandadan manga! xD I still need to start the second season, though.

I watched Darwin's Game when it first came out, lol. Honestly, it wasn’t really my thing. Sure, it had some decent moments, but the plot was way too cliché; I felt like I could predict everything that was going to happen. But like you said, sometimes it’s fun to just watch “dumb” stuff for the vibes haha.

I tend to watch a bunch of shows at once. xD I am a seasonal watcher, so right now I am trying to wrap up a bunch of series from Spring 2025 while getting ready for the Summer season. In between, I like to squeeze in some older stuff; when I can, right now I am watching Blood+ and Kodocha, and they’re both great!

It makes me happy to see someone else use the tags on his anime list to write his thoughts about a show. (I thought I was the only one who did that!)
