Yeah, me too, especially episode 8. What I love in it is the interconnections between the characters and the whole magical girl system that traps them so effectively

I can recommend you The Different Story to read, it gives you more of Mami and also explains the relationship between Mami and Kyoko. Although it's not canon it's very well done
