Rocket Shoukai originally penned the main story as a web novel on the Kakuyomu website from February to March in 2016. Kadokawa published the novel under its Kadokawa Books imprint in December that year, featuring illustrations by Yuuya Kusaka (Majutsushi Orphen).
Nakashima723 originally self-published the manga on the web in June 2018 and released the first volume on the Kindle Indies Manga platform in November that year. Comic Border began serializing a manga adaptation in February 2022. LEED Publishing released the seventh volume on March 21, with the eighth volume scheduled to go on sale on December 18.
The first volume was released in English by comic translation engine Mantra Comics in March 2020. Manga Planet began publishing the chapters in English in May 2020.

Synopsis

Akane Shinsha published the original manga and sequel in May 2017 and August 2021 and released a new edition of each on August 16. The manga returned from hiatus in 2025 and is serializing on the Comiplex website. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed both manga in English in 2017 and 2021. The first volume was released in July 2018, followed by the second volume in July 2022.

Miyajima began drawing a spin-off manga, titled Kanojo, Hitomishirimasu (Rent-A-(Really Shy!)-Girlfriend), in Magazine pocket in June 2020. The third volume was released in May 2022.
Kodansha USA licensed both the original and spin-off manga in July 2019 and March 2021, respectively. The 32th volume of the original manga went on sale on August 19, and the 33th volume is scheduled for a October 21 release. The third volume of the spin-off manga was released in November 2022.
