Nageki no Bourei wa Intai Shitai – Season 1 Part 2 Review
1) Story Continuation
Part 2 adapts content primarily from Light Novel Volumes 4 to 6, continuing directly from where Part 1 ended. The anime stays largely faithful to the main plot trajectory, preserving the core appeal of Krai’s absurd luck, constant misunderstandings, and the world’s persistent misinterpretation of him as an unparalleled genius and powerhouse. The narrative remains coherent, though noticeably denser and more compressed than in Part 1.
2) Adaptation Choices
Studio Zero-G maintains consistency in overall production quality and direction. However, in covering Volumes 4–6, the adaptation becomes more selective, cutting a significant amount of
...
background lore and contextual story elements tied to the main narrative. These omissions are not merely optional details; they form the foundation for later developments. If the anime continues, these gaps may become more apparent unless addressed in future seasons or supplemental content.
3) Character Design
Part 2 shows visible inconsistency in visual design, especially in the first half of the cour. Several side characters—particularly knights, monsters, and phantoms—are depicted with overly colorful and gaudy designs. This stylistic choice clashes with the established tone of the world and occasionally breaks immersion, making it one of the weaker technical aspects of this part.
4) Character Relationships and Party Dynamics
A major weakness of this part is the reduced focus on party bonding and interpersonal development within Krai’s group, especially concerning the three members who rejoined during this part. These characters re-enter the story with minimal exploration of their growth, motivations, or evolving relationships with Krai and the rest of the party, making their presence feel more functional than emotional.
These relationships are essential to the emotional weight of later arcs, yet much of this development is either rushed or omitted. An OVA or a small set of additional episodes would be an effective way to restore this missing material. While it is understood that not everything from the light novel can be adapted, this content feels necessary rather than optional.
5) Voice Acting and Execution
The voice acting remains consistently strong throughout Part 2. Performances continue to enhance both comedic misunderstandings and serious moments, often compensating for pacing issues or skipped content. The cast maintains a high level of consistency and credibility.
6) Overall Impression
Part 2 works well as a continuation and successfully adapts Volumes 4–6 without disrupting the story’s core appeal. However, it feels more like a transitional segment than a fully realized arc. The humor and premise remain effective, but the lack of background detail and character bonding limits its overall impact.
Rating Breakdown
Story Continuation (Vol. 4–6): 8/10
Adaptation Quality: 6.5/10
Character Design: 6/10
Voice Acting: 8/10
Overall Impression: 7/10
Final Rating: 7/10
Part 2 is solid and enjoyable, but clearly more constrained and selective than Part 1. It maintains momentum while sacrificing depth—an approach that only works if the anime is allowed to continue. I would still recommend this to viewers looking for an adventure anime that avoids the usual genre tropes, offering a refreshing alternative to the standard overpowered protagonist.

Summer Pockets – Spoiler-Free Personal Impressions
It’s been a long time since an anime made me feel this way. I went into Summer Pockets without reading the description, without expectations, and somehow that instinct paid off. From the very first episode, it hit me with the same kind of quiet nostalgia I felt all those years ago with certain classics. There's a softness to its atmosphere—like memories you forgot you had until something triggers them.
The pacing is slow in the best possible way. It gives you time to settle into the island, the days, the people, the lingering silences. That gradual build-up is what lets the
...
emotions land without feeling forced. Even when I could somewhat predict the direction of things, it didn’t matter—the tone carried it. The show doesn’t rush to impress you; it lets you sink into its world until you're just… there.
What stands out most is the emotional layering. On the surface, it looks like a typical summer slice-of-life setup with a cast of heroines and the main character drifting through encounters. But there’s always something underneath—an unspoken sadness, a sense that every moment is temporary. The supernatural elements don’t feel out of place either. They blend into the tone instead of jumping out for attention, and with each new development they quietly reshape your understanding of what’s really going on.
And then there’s the nostalgia—the kind that doesn’t rely on references or callbacks, but on feelings. The kind that reminds you of being younger, of summers that slipped away before you realized they were ending. The show captures that passing warmth and turns it into something bittersweet. It made me remember how rare it is to watch something that doesn’t just entertain you for a season but actually leaves something behind.
Even before finishing it, I found myself thinking, “It’s been a while since I felt something like this.” That alone tells me it did its job. Summer Pockets might not be loud or flashy, but if you give it time, it quietly hits where it matters.

Ballpark de Tsukamaete! – A Hidden Gem of Spring 2025
Every anime season, I set aside a few shows to binge once they're complete—sometimes I hit gold, sometimes I end up dropping a dud. But this time? Ballpark de Tsukamaete! turned out to be a grand slam.
This anime flew under the radar among the many titles released in Spring 2025, but it ended up being one of the most refreshing and underrated series of the season. At first glance, it looks like your typical sports anime—but it’s far from it. While most sports shows focus solely on the players' struggles, rivalries, and the pressure of competition,
...
Ballpark de Tsukamaete! offers a broader, more human perspective. It explores not just the game, but also the lives of the stadium staff, their interactions with fans, their daily challenges, and—most importantly—their love for beer (yes, beer plays an unexpectedly wholesome role here).
The pacing is on the slower side, but it works in the show's favor. It lets you soak in the atmosphere of the stadium and see baseball through the eyes of everyday people—the die-hard fans, the vendors, and the employees who make each game possible. There are also some light romantic subplots sprinkled throughout, which add humor and warmth without overpowering the main themes.
Produced by EMT Squared, a studio I’d previously considered above average, this anime is where they truly hit the ball out of the park (pun fully intended). From direction to voice acting to art and sound design, everything sits comfortably at a solid 7/10 across the board. It's consistent, sincere, and genuinely enjoyable.
My only regret? Not watching this sooner. If you’re tired of the same recycled tropes each season, this is your wildcard pick. It’s different, heartfelt, and full of unexpected charm. Definitely recommended for regular anime watchers who want something grounded yet uplifting.

Overall Score: 5.75/10
Animation: 6
Voice Acting: 7
Story: 4
Sound Quality: 6
...
Season 2 is a dramatic departure from the first. Gone are the cheerful school days — what remains is a bleak, philosophical dive into themes of fate, choice, destruction, and rebirth. The pacing is slower, the tone more serious, and the stakes are much, much higher.
The animation remains consistent, and the voice acting handles the heavy emotional moments quite well. Sound design is atmospheric but still modest. The real highlight here is the attempt to explain the fragmented world building from Season 1, giving fans the backstory they were craving.
That said, the storytelling often feels too compressed and abstract, especially for those unfamiliar with the source material. The second half carries genuine emotional impact, but it felt like the writers tried to force the narrative into a semi-happy ending, which doesn’t fully align with the tone that preceded it.
It also felt like instead of giving us a proper prequel to flesh out the characters and events, they forcefully combined the prequel and the sequel into one season just to patch the plot holes left in Season 1. While the effort is appreciated, it results in a structure that feels rushed and occasionally incoherent.
It’s a better season than the first — more focused, more meaningful — but still flawed in execution. Worth watching if you're committed to seeing the bigger picture unfold.

Overall Score: 6/10
Animation: 6
Voice Acting: 7
Story: 5
Sound Quality: 6
...
At first glance, Rewrite feels like a typical school-themed anime, filled with club activities, comedy, and a cast of quirky characters. The supernatural hints are there, but they’re buried under a lighthearted tone that lasts through much of the season. The animation is fine, the voice acting does its job well, and the sound design supports the mood — but nothing stands out as extraordinary.
The biggest issue lies with the story. It's ambitious but poorly structured. Important world building elements are glossed over or thrown in without context, making it feel like there’s a whole prequel we never got to see. Characters often act in confusing ways, and major events occur without the emotional grounding they need to land properly.
That said, there’s a tonal shift near the end of the season that hints at something much bigger and darker beneath the surface.
(No spoilers — but the ending sets up something very different. If you're interested, you can check out my Season 2 review on my profile / review page for more thoughts on how the story unfolds.)

Tasokare Hotel – A Letdown Wrapped in Potential
Started off promising... but ended up mid.
At first glance, Tasokare Hotel sets a moody tone with strong Death Parade vibes—which honestly had me intrigued. But once the character Osoto Masaki entered the picture, I expected the story to take a deeper turn. Instead, it just became increasingly predictable.
What really killed it for me was the ending. It felt like they slapped on a forceful happy resolution with little regard for the buildup. No real explanations about who or what the bartender and the manager really were, or how this place even operates. Just a lot of emotional fluff
...
and unanswered questions.
I know the anime is based on a game (as noted on its MAL page), but since I haven’t played it, I can’t speak to how much was left out. What I can say is the anime didn’t stand well on its own.
Animation: 7/10
Voice Acting: 6/10
Sound Quality: 6/10
Story: 3/10
Total: 5.5/10
A disappointing binge-watch. It had potential, but by the end, I felt more frustrated than fulfilled.

Okitsura (Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hougen Sugite Tsurasugiru) – A Surprisingly Hilarious & Heartfelt Cultural Romcom
Okay, this anime is funny as hell.
I went into Okinawa de Suki ni Natta Ko ga Hougen Sugite Tsurasugiru expecting a lightweight romcom, but what I got was a beautifully written, laugh-out-loud cultural deep dive—with a love triangle to boot!
The premise? A city boy from mainland Japan falls for a girl in Okinawa... only to find her dialect is so strong, he can barely understand her. Comedy gold, trust me. Add in another girl who also likes him, and boom—classic love triangle energy. But here’s the twist:
...
unlike most anime that treat Okinawa like a fanservice-filled beach episode, this one actually explores the region.
We’re talking real cultural contrast: dialect confusion, lifestyle differences, and even subtle social issues faced by the Okinawan community. It’s funny, relatable, and refreshingly respectful.
Animation and voice acting? 8/10 for both—shockingly high considering it’s from Studio Millepensee, a studio I usually associate with average-at-best productions. But this one? Totally surprised me. The voice acting sells every joke and emotion perfectly.
Haven’t read the manga, so I can’t speak to the adaptation—but as a standalone anime? I loved it.
P.S. I’m rooting for Kana all the way. Girl deserves the win.
Final Rating: 8/10
Watch if you love: dialect humor, regional culture, romcoms with actual depth.

As someone who often writes anime reviews, I found Gimai Seikatsu particularly difficult to put into words — not because it’s overly complex, but because of how subtle and emotionally restrained it is. It doesn’t shout its themes, nor does it rely on excessive drama or fanservice. Instead, it walks a fine emotional line, and that’s both its strength and its challenge.
The pacing, animation, and especially the voice acting are done really well. Every scene feels like it’s trying to capture something real — the awkwardness, hesitation, and unspoken tension between the main characters. What I genuinely appreciated was how the story avoids
...
going down the ecchi or incest-heavy route. That restraint gave the narrative more emotional weight and credibility.
The plot itself is quite simple, focusing on how two step-siblings try to coexist while dealing with conflicting emotions, personal boundaries, and social expectations. The internal monologues and quiet moments help paint a clear picture of how emotionally uncertain both characters are. They're not sure how to feel — and honestly, neither was I, which makes the story oddly engaging.
The side characters play a bigger role than expected, often bringing in bittersweet or comedic moments that gently steer the emotional tone. Their presence helps reflect or challenge the main characters’ feelings, adding more depth to scenes that might have otherwise felt too quiet or slow.
However, my biggest complaint lies in the pacing. While I understand the creative choice to slow things down for emotional emphasis, some parts felt unnecessarily dragged out. This occasionally made emotionally charged scenes feel dull instead of impactful. That’s why my emotional scenes rating is lower — not because the content lacked substance, but because the delivery sometimes missed the emotional punch.
In the end, Gimai Seikatsu is not about grand moments or flashy romance. It's about navigating emotional gray areas — and that’s why it lingers with you.
My Ratings:
Story Concept: 8/10
Adaptation Quality: 7.5/10
Voice Acting: 8.5/10
Emotional Scenes: 5/10 (due to pacing)
Overall Impression: 7/10
Total Rating: 7.2/10
This review reflects my mixed feelings — the kind of anime that leaves you unsure whether to smile or sigh. Whether you agree or not is up to you, but I’d definitely recommend giving it a shot if you enjoy character-driven, emotionally quiet storytelling.

Expectations vs. Reality
As a long-time reader of the manga, I was excited when the anime adaptation was announced. Satelight, the studio handling the adaptation, has a history of producing above-average anime, so I had high hopes.
Disappointments
Voice Acting: 5/10
The protagonist’s voice acting was disappointing—too high-pitched and unnatural. In contrast, the side characters were voiced exceptionally well.
Animation Quality: 4/10
...
Action and emotional scenes were poorly animated. Overall, the visuals felt rushed and lacked fluidity.
Story Adaptation: 3/10
Significant parts of the manga were skipped. Many jokes were censored, reducing the comedic impact.
Overall Execution: 4/10
The anime felt rushed and likely suffered from a low budget. Despite being 24 episodes long, it failed to do justice to the source material.
Final Verdict: 4/10
If you’re a fan of the series, stick to the manga—it’s a comedic masterpiece. Hopefully, this adaptation does not impact the manga’s continuation. I would love to see a proper re-adaptation by a different studio in the future.
Hope this review helps anyone deciding whether to watch or read the series! 🚀

1) Story Concept:
The anime follows Krai/Kurai, a hunter in a world where hunters are typically strong adventurers.
Unlike the ongoing trend of overpowered protagonists, Krai is a total weakling who relies solely on his luck (or misfortune).
His constant misunderstandings and random events lead others to perceive him as the strongest and smartest hunter, creating a unique and comedic narrative.
2) Adaptation Quality:
Studio Zero-G, though not known for many big
...
titles, has done a great job with this adaptation.
While not every detail from the manga and light novel could be incorporated, the anime effectively captures the story's essence and humor.
3) Voice Acting:
The voice actors delivered exceptional performances, bringing the characters to life and enhancing both the comedic and emotional moments.
4) Action Scenes:
The fight scenes, especially in the second arc, could have been improved with better choreography.
Nevertheless, the action is engaging and serves the story well, keeping viewers entertained.
5) Overall Impression:
The anime is a solid and underrated addition to recent releases, offering a fresh and comedic take on the adventure genre.
Hoping for a second season, as Krai’s chaotic misadventures have much potential for further exploration.
6) Rating:
Total rating: 8/10
Story Concept: 9/10
Adaptation Quality: 7.5/10
Voice Acting: 8.5/10

Overall Impression: 8/10
Hope this review helps those looking for an authentic take on the story and deciding whether to watch it. If you enjoy a mix of humor, misunderstandings, and a unique twist on the adventure genre, this anime is worth a try!
