The story plays out like someone's first draft where they wrote the entire story non-stop in one sitting. What you thought was the entire point of the story, gets continually more and more downplayed throughout, as if the author lost interest and instead began to favor a new story half way through. It results in an unsatisfying, absurd, and inconclusive story, which is a far cry from the original anime and movie
The visuals, while more CG than the original, are still fairly good. And, of course, the music is still fantastic
