This anime is in a league of its own. The soundtrack is on par with the best Hollywood productions and the artwork is equally beautiful. The plot is quite different from the usual shojo or yuri stories because instead of the usual developement from troubled story to happy ending, we see portrayed a number of fragile and broken people that act like real ones. This is extremely rare in anime (at least in the 50+ series I have watched during lockdown months). The graphic images of sex are well made and needed for the story to be complete (even if someone complains, this is not a gratuitous ecchi anime). I think this anime is a hard pill to swallow. If you aren't old enough you can find yourself lost in the actions of the characters. The way they talk and explain their reasons is not realistic per se, being the way the author tells us what's behind their action. But it shows clearly the chaos we can have inside both in our youth and in our maturity. I am old enough to recognize as true what we see in this anime and even if many younger reviewers seem to be upset by the plot, I was really enthralled and caught up by the story. I am glad they didn't wait for the manga to be finished to make this anime because, according to what I read online, it drastically changes its course. The sad ending of this story is absolutely spot on, instead. Learning from our mistakes is the prize we receive, even if in tears.
