I enjoyed reading the first volume, the story sets the scene by introducing you to the Barista & Café Hachiwara, and its purpose.
The story is delivered from the perspectives of individual customers that the Barista sees, and whilst is quite a simple concept it works really well. I felt that in such a small time for each chapter, the author did a great job at giving each character a personality and a reason to be there.
The main character was really simple yet fun – I love the way Maijima was able to convey very cat-like mannerisms and personality in his artwork! The drinks served to customers all looked very pretty, so I’d be very hopeful that it eventually gets an anime adaptation someday, so we can see it all in colour!
I think this manga would appeal to readers that enjoy something a little quirky and cute with good humor and thought provocation. If you appreciate a wholesome but also reflective slice-of-life story I think you’d love this!
