I found the artwork of Lily C.A.T perfect for it's icy and desolate feel of deep space, where the danger exists both inside as well as outside. In many ways, I can't help but compare it to movies like 2001: A Space Odyssey and Alien as they all explore terrifying deep space environments where people are helpless against something bigger, whether it be an unidentified intelligence, a machine, or an extraterrestrial organism.
Though the plot of Lily C.A.T. seemed kind of predictable for me, especially because I've already experienced the layered storytelling of Space Odyssey. It shouldn't be much predictable if you haven't watched the mentioned movies. The psychological aspects of this movie were good and it managed to exceed my expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in genres like sci fi, psychological and horror thriller.
If you don't truly put yourself in the crew's position and picture yourself stuck there, you won't be frightened by this kind of movie. This movie combines isolation and suspense into a package that seems like a hidden gem of sci-fi horror.
