Ao no Miburo is beyond your expectations. It starts slow but delivers an interesting story. It might be about the Samurai era, but it is relevant today and challenges our beliefs about what we should do when an era is changing. Nowadays, the pace of life is faster than ever, and this anime can help us find meaning in life and understand what we should pursue.
There are some flaws as well. For example, we get several flashbacks at the end, one after another, which could have been spread throughout the story, so it wouldn’t feel overwhelming at a critical moment of the plot.
The quality could have been better; especially the fight scenes, which are a bit dull.
And personally, I don’t like the VA of the MC.
Overall, it has a beautiful story, and I recommend it to everyone who cares more about storytelling than flashy fights.
