Its mainly a lighthearted SoL that sometimes leans into a little bit of romance...but it only implies it and goes straight back to the lighthearted joy, and the vampire girl is also incredibly adorable and cute! the way that the creator made it so that she doesnt even realize when she just regresses into a chibi baby and is sort of just a second nature thing is also smart, since it also puts up potential for little sort of tangible "what ifs" for a character that could turn into a chibi one in cute situations, and not just a one off OVA.
And unlike most other SoL (even cgdct) anime, it surprisingly has NO mono-no-aware, or that melancholy like it is in non-non biyori, no shade to non-non but its definitely....an acquired taste, much like this anime, or say even k-on that injects a little bit of melancholy in it aswell, but this anime stayed strong and happy throughout all the episodes, its almost akin to kiniro mosaic, where you bite into every episode with a gush of sugar.
I feel like for me, its the best lighthearted, just an absolute sweet puckering and an easily digestable show for anyone that appreciates and loves cuteness etc.
It also utilizes the trope of a "maternal figure" with a twist, wont get too in depth for what it is...or it would spoil it,
And please, dont come watching this show expecting some grand action or plot where she uses vampire abilities to conjure up some unique action plot....its a comedy and cute first anime.
TL;DR, its a really good show all round IN its genre, if you loved kiniro mosaic, onimai, or yuyushiki, for how cute and lighthearted it was.
