Movie prequel to the 1990 anime. Based on the second book "Comet in Moominland".

Most well-known and most successful adaptation of Moomin franchise. This is the version most people have watched as well. It's mostly based on the 3rd book onwards, although it takes some of its stories from the comic strips, and adds a few original stories as well. The series is available on Youtube in the official Moomin channel (English Dubbed).

2019's version has its character design based on the 1990's anime, although it is not considered anime so it isn't part of this list for obvious reasons. The 1990 cast also dubbed the japanese dub of the 2014 non-anime film Moomins in the Riviera, as well as appearing in most CMs featuring Moomin Characters.

Second season of the 1990 series. Not very well received as the stories mostly weren't based on Jansson's work, plus the changes in tones and character design.

First iteration of Moomin anime. Partly lost media. Also known for not being liked by Jansson due to the drastic changes from the source books. Despite that, it had a good reception in Japan. This series hasn't been released outside Japan. This is part of the World Masterpiece Theater.

Second iteration of Moomin anime and sequel to the 1969 series. This adaptation is closer to the books (although mostly original) and is part of the well-known World Masterpiece Theater. However, this series hasn't been released outside Japan either, but at least it had a physical release, so this is version is not lost media.
