but is it an isekai? i for myself decided, that i will only call anime an isekai if the "isekai"-plot is relevant for the story.
in this one we know that ars got reincarnated, but thats it.
absolutly nothing would change if he wouldnt be a reincarnation. so for me this is no isekai and its just strapped on, to jump on the "hype-train"

Don't forgot that he is like 13-14 now and not everyone has the talent to be a leader at that age, and he did things like this since being like 3-4? He can keep his composure and can understand others better because he is already an adult in mind, the anime may not mention it but we know thats the case. And well the anime has "tensei" in the title i have to consider it a isekai if it is, there is other anime like this, its a yuri called "Tensei Oujo to Tensai Reijou no Mahou Kakumei" that mention the world she came even less by the way, but we know that her interests came from her past life too. |

@lucio54 well. if you watch the other characters in the show like his now wife, and most of his elite squad, they all seem a lot more mature than kids in our world would be.
he could also just be gifted and not isekaied.
i mean, he never mentions his old world besides when the leader summoned him and he think to himself: "did he find out im not from this world?"
not even in his thoughts he thinks about anything from earth, he never uses any real wisdom he had from earth nothing.
i really think that this would work exactly the same, if it wouldnt have the reincarnation plot and because of that at least for me i wouldnt think of this as an isekai.
i mean if someone asks me: "could you recommend me a good isekai?" i would never reommend this one. not because the show is bad, i rated it quite high, but because it has nearly no typical isekai characteristics

| @Wrathberry84 Well, you can say that its not typical, but maybe thats one of the factors that it is good, i would no doubt recommend, how much it is an isekai or not don't matter much if its good after all, and like i said, i doubt it would be the same, even his powers probably came from the fact that he isekai'ed. |

| Got to see his family there at the end, forgot they existed. This show really lacked content with his family. Enjoyed it overall, but was a much weaker season imo. Too much focus on war/battles which were not that interesting and felt repetitive. The animation quality really struggled with all of the combat scenes too. |

| @lucio54 just cause hes reincarnated with hes past memories doesn't mean hes mentally 20, our body's/biology set limit ho mature we can be, hes a kid trough and trough, kid with higher knowledge cause of hes past life knowledge doesn't make one adult, u know Geniuses exist, but they are not considered adult cause of higher knowledge so why should Ars be different? he acts as mature as hes wife Licia so what u say doesn't apply here |
| I still prefer s1. The gang seems to always steamrolled the obstacle they have TOO EASILY. Im so furious especially at Corrin's Assasination part, what a bs plot armor is that. Also besides Thomas, nobody had decent characterization from the antagonist side. There is no balance at all. 6/10, at least the second half of this anime is bearable. The first part is snoozefest boring that almost tempted me to drop this series. |

| I'm also conflicted, I think the criticism against Ars is right in that he doesn't really do much aside from having the right attitude coupled with his ability allowing him to recruit countless talents. There's no doubt that his role that binds everyone is important, but it feels like he is getting so much credit even for things he didn't do. I do somewhat get it, that the lord would receive the glory of his men as well. But if that's the case, then it doesn't make sense that there would still be dissenting voice against his promotion given that there can be no doubt on his role in the war... The writing was all over the place, and Ars feels a bit too plain to be a protagonist...Thomas in particular was a big negative for me this season with how they tried to write him out as a decent guy after all the horrible plans he concocted. I'll probably still watch S3 since it seems he won't be in the picture anymore, but this season was a significant step down from S1 for sure |
| Cute wedding to end this season off with. Compared to S1, I'd have to say this was weaker overall but it was pretty good towards the end, hope the sequel will continue in that fashion. Ars should really use his powers more often lmao, I almost forgot about his ability. |

| Well season 2 sure ramped htings up a bit more, though overall the whoel frnachise is a bit one note at times, I liked hte characters. They were drawn fairly well much of the itme, despite the horrible haircuts for most. But a nice ending helped make this a solid 6/10 show. I hope seaosn 3 ramps things up a lot more! |

It's nice to see how much Ars how grown since his father's death. From being scared after his first battle, to wining wars... AND on top of getting married finally.
Yeah, it's not the best thing ever, but it's far from the worst thing ever. I look forward to season three for sure.

| I like to watch some anime, I like to talk about some anime, I dislike wars over some anime, but more than anything I love to live my life, anime is an enjoyable and entertaining addition onto my life but it's not my whole life. |

OH MY GOD WE GOT THE WEDDING AND IT’S PERFECT?!!?!?! Y’all don’t know how much that last 3 minutes meant to me oh my goodness that was so beautiful. I wish Ars dad could’ve been there to see his wedding 😭 perfect finale for season 2 and we’re getting a third season??!! I wonder if that was in response to LN sales or if it was always planned as 3 cour. It’s so rare for a new show to get renewed this many times, Honzuki is like the other LN series I can think of that had that.
Great finale though. Thomas went down a lot easier than I expected, but honestly after getting his backstory last week it makes sense. His issue was always his feelings of insecurity and inferiority towards his big sister. Even though he lost thanks to a Rosell masterclass, he finally got the acknowledgement from Mireille he always wanted. I don’t see him being able to be used against Vasmarque because of that loyalty he has for him, but not having Thomas will weaken Vasmarque substantially in this next campaign!
Ars gets a new domain! The fact there’s still nobles who question Ars’ merit is hilarious. “Oh he just has strong retainers” no shit why do you think all these talented people want to serve him you idiot. And even if he did only have strong retainers, that’s not an issue lol. It’s gonna be fun seeing him develop Canarre over the next cour!
The scene of Ars returning and meeting the family of the fallen was fucking beautiful too. The letters he wrote and just knowing he cares about their children beyond their usefulness on a battlefield was lovely
And then of course the wedding to wrap it up. This was even better than season 1 to me, the war, the stakes, the action and tactical games ending on a wedding! Zero complaints and I can not wait for more of this! One of the best shows this year.
