It can be as trivial as learning a fact you used in smalltalk, or as grand as understanding certain traits of people.

For me there are two abilities I learned from watching anime. The first one is from a specific anime, Hyouka, I learned to look out for small details and how to notice them.
The second one is just overall a better understanding of how people feel, and I improved my room-reading-ability, if only by a bit.

I learned critical thinking from Umineko no Naku Koro Ni. True story.

Oh, and how to not play Yu-Gi-Oh TCG from the Yu-Gi-Oh anime.

Yes, an ability to put up with stupid bullshit for four hours straight without smashing my face into a desk or borrowing the power of alcohol :D

Being serious though, anime has not taught me anything.
It did serve as a sort of impetus for making me think about something in a more involved manner or try talking to some people I wouldn't otherwise or try doing something or learn something in the real world on several occasions.

Mystery anime taught me that truth hides in details, I’ve absorbed the wits, noticing micro‑details in others and my surroundings.
My awareness translates into sneaker collecting too, like spotting fakes in a world flooded with replicas. .
I've learned from The likes of Madao Hasegawa Taizou (Gintama) that being broke and jobless and how to laugh through despair.
Life Hack Scroll
From Ryoutsu (Kochikame) I learned absurd get rich quick schemes that diffuse anger with laughter also how to keep finding lost money and lose change in the streets.

The most concrete skill would be Japanese listening skills. But it's pretty minimal and only through sheer exposure, since I'm not studying Japanese properly. I'm slooowly getting better at picking up some of the grammar, words, pronunciation, nuance, etc.

Other than that, nothing comes to mind. Anime introduced me to a lot of things and taught me about a lot of things, but not how to do those things.

KA... ME... HA.. ME...

Anime, and really just fiction in general, has helped me find perspective for lives that are not like my own.

I learned the ability to judge people fairly, it's good and kind-hearted nature that matters more; not their intimidating looks.

Kaiji changed how I give motivational speeches (particularly what Tonegawa said during the steel beam crossing). Hearing "you're a loser and you'll die like one if you don't change right now" has been much more motivating for me and certain people in my life than the generic "you can do it! As soon as you magically get the motivation to..."

I also learned that gambling is really fun and everyone should spend all their money on pachislots right now (no, don't do that).

How much educational value does anime have? Well, I learned some basic information from anime shows, although I wouldn't consider anime to be educational (overall).

I learned how to make huge blow bubbles from Digimon Adventure 02. Impressed some friends with this knowledge, too.

Also learned English (my second language) from reading subtitles and Japanese, but that's kinda meh as far as impressing people goes.
Same for Japanese history and other trivia bits.
