Underaged fanservice. I would explain why, but judging by the term, I don't think an explanation is really needed.

Most romcom/isekai protags. I think it can be summed up in one image

@CosmicFusion Ataru has no excuse being as great as he is, he falls into so many hated tropes and is annoying as hell but Rumiko is so good that he's very enjoyable

@anen0me Not really things in anime that I watched, but if I see those tropes I nope out. But by "abusive" I mean when the MC's entire personally is being an ass to everyone or insults everywhere around them. Pervert little kids like that Mineta in Hero Academy or Rudeus (I get he's an adult in little kid body but that counts imo) and the psuedo fluid thing is mostly found in older anime, but makes me cringe if I see it still.
@Tropisch Mineta isn't a little kid, that actually makes him worse considering the Eri scene in s4... Honestly I can see where he might have a point to exist in the story but there could be so many better ways to approach the themes he embodies without him

When there is a complicated moral question for the mc only for an easy solution to just pop out
Also unnecessary out of place perverted stuff of course

Hard to pick just one, but recently its been the status screens in isekai/fantasy anime. It was excusable in something like Log Horizon where the characters got stuck inside an RPG that they were all playing. But now, series that have nothing to do with simulations, video games or RPGs are just lazily throwing in status screens and named character abilities. Makes the show feel so cheap and not immersive.

Instead of creating a fantasy world, authors are just taking the most recent video game they played and using those game systems to write their story. Medieval/historical fantasy is probably my favorite setting, but with anime it feels like a poisoned chalice - poisoned with low effort slop.
@Maenads the status screens are absolutely my least favorite part of that trope
but at least the moment i see one show up i know i can safely close my browser tab without the fear that i've missed out on anything

I hate in romance anime when any time the main couple is about to have a nice moment there is some stupid character that always comes along and ruins it. It is never funny and they always make it the most annoying character as well.

My least favourite is - I tortured/killed (millions) of people, but in the end said "sorry" or just "I was wrong" and because of that get zero consequences.

This way of thinking, which is extremely disgusting to me, perfectly reflects the views of the Japanese on their historical crimes.
@Stanis150 Well, 90% of the Japanese population had nothing to do with those crimes so they're not actually "their" crimes.

For me, the peak of irritating tropes is the male MC who is scared of the opposite sex, and indeed of sex itself. Give me a break.

Boy accidentally barges in on naked girl or boy's hand accidentally ends up on girl's boob/nether regions

Followed by boy gets beaten/smacked up even though it wasn't his fault

I've lost respect for many a series because they had to shoehorn that crap in.

Goblin Slayer is one of the shows that I make an exception for because the meta plot has gods literally playing D&D. Same with Overlord (which is ironically more creative with its races and characters than most isekai) because it's an MMO, it makes sense for it to be inspired by generic fantasy.

Everything else is just lazy.
@DaiichiDaiman Tbh i make no exceptions for overlord, i'm not the biggest fan of it. I'm aware it has a very dedicated fanbase, though, so it must be doing something right.
I haven't hated every video game-adjacent manga i've read, but wow, it's close. Saihate no paladin stood out to me as featuring some fairly decent writing, at least in the first arc or so that i read before i put it down. I think it might be one of the only isekai i've read that i didn't absolutely despise, but even there I don't think that feature of the setting was any kind of asset.

Really the trope is just so dry and lacking in actual narrative potential that I don't think there's any way you can make a good story within a setting like that for very long. It's the perfect setting for mindless power scaling (just make number go up, easy!) which is why it's become so ubiquitous.

The worst is censoring drinking with juice. These other things being complained about are like first worlders complaining over the color of their toilet bowl.
Hiding away drinking has shaved away too many colors of personality.

Beach trips and breast envy, I don't think I need to explain them. They're overdone and most of the time authors/screenwriters tend to not add any spin onto either or. At least give me pec envy between male characters if you're going to do the "uuuu i don't like that cow tittied a-chan *grasps own breast sensually* i just don't like a-chan idk" nonsense.

@anen0me I guess the silver lining is they pretty much always hit that status screen in the first five minutes. You get that built in warning to just not bother watching, without wasting much time.

Not exactly an anime trope, I think, Alzheimer RECAP.
Sunrise has those series that are amazing, but every few episodes they will flashback with the same animation and character monologuing something different. They try to make it be a character POV but it is normally someone who narrates exactly what happened before. You can watch it in: Gundam Seed, Code Geass, Cluster Edge, ...
@Sasori56483 Whatever the reason, this is done out of necessity. They used to say it was so viewers catching a random episode on the television wouldn't be confused about where they were in the show, but as often as not stuff like this is done just to pad out the runtime on a weekly release so that everyone working on it can keep up. When things moved on to streaming services - particularly with adaptations - shows started to get worked on an entire season at a time and released in blocks, with no need for the alzheimer recap.
Absolutely agree that it's annoying though

I hate how so many isekai turn into a fantasy RPG where the MC basically just treats the world like a videogame and immediatley accepts his new circumstances. I also hate that shit where they have hologram menus that they project through their brains or whatever tf, not an isekai but solo leveling does that and it just feels like a lame lazy way to give the character new abilities by literally just giving them an upgrade menu.

That episode in romance animes where one of the character catch a cold and falls unconscious, can barely breathe or eat, starts hallucinating ect... and the love interest go to their house to take care of them and make them soup

How are you on the verge of dying from a common cold and why no one ever go see a doctor if it's that serious
@CerberosIII YES! All these powerful characters getting taking down from a cold and sudden temperature changes. Really?
It's just an overplayed troupe for the love interest to take care of them.

I don't like the violent taundere trope at all, but especially when it's taken to an extreme like when the guy literally does absolutely nothing or is very kind to the girl and the girl just beats him to a pulp. It's just abusive and makes me hate the taundere character before I know anything else about them. (Isn't the point of taunderes that they're supposed to intrigue you and get you to want to know about their secret "soft side"?) I also know male victims of abuse perpetrated by females and feel like it's quite shitty to minimize abuse "just because oh it's a cute, short girl doing it". I get it's fiction, but I just don't like it idk.

If it's just one slap and the guy was being a huge pervert or something then I'm like "whatever I guess, it's just slapstick." And in that case maybe I can overlook it, but yeah.

An example of a taundere I really actively disliked throughout the whole anime: The taundere girl Inami in "Working!!" NGL she kinda ruined the anime for me. She was like the main love interest for the mc at least in this first season and I found her absolutely insufferable. Her excuse for beating him up is "she's afraid of men", but she refuses to actually better herself despite supposedly feeling remorseful (not real remorse, in other words) and the mc doing literally everything to try and help her including dressing up as a woman to make her more comfortable among other things.

Plus if you were really afraid of men you wouldn't approach them at all, especially not just to beat them up. Source: I used to be afraid of men and did not approach them.

@AnnaSartin

among other things yeah
putting aside my diehard moralism for a moment (no i'm not)
i get that feeling about a lot of relationships with a major age or authority gap (in fiction or IRL)

it's kind of like,

oh so neither of you can date a peer? it has to be someone you have nothing in common with that you can't relate to in practically any way? you'd rather be fetishized?

great
good to know
