So I'm assuming they gonna skip all the SOL chapters with the gang. Sucks that they're doing that cause they were fun to read and acts as a nice refresher. At least we got a nice anime original scene at the end

This is probably my favorite episode of the season. The characterization of the antagonist in this episode was so good. I found myself rooting for him. Not that I wanted him to kill Sakamoto, I was hoping he would win the paintball tournament, gain some self-esteem, and maybe join the convenient store crew. I hope we get to see this guy again later on he was fun and entertaining.

I enjoy the manga of Sakamoto Days quite highly. But there's something about this production that feels so lethargic and molasses-y. Just find myself tuning out harder and harder.

I predict there will be one episode where a fight scene goes super hard and is adapted beautifully for maybe 3 minutes. And I'm sure I'll see it posted all over social media when that happens. But unless those stellar 3 minutes are surrounded by clear, crisp, awake-at-the-wheel feeling visuals full of purpose and verve... I don't think it'll be all that worth it.

Semi-automatic bolt action rifle??? Closing 1 eye to aim at Sakamoto 1 feet away? No money yet spraying bullets like there's no tomorrow? Sniping while standing straight on the freaking roof where everyone can see you?!!! And they made it look like mind-read guy needed to shout in mic to get his lication lol. While at the same time we see the moron right there standing in the open. This episode was peak retardation!

This new sniper guy is too retarded. Found him way too annoying, especially when crying all the time.

Ending was funny though. All the money went on repairs. + "Don't read my wife's mind or I kill you."

I have to admit… Heisuke is the best sniper ever, shooting is the only thing he’s good at. But I think he’ll never surpass Sakamoto in assassination skills.

I thought this episode was the most fun ever to the action and the comedy and it's nice to see Mr. Sakamoto encouraging others even though he tired to kill him.

Another assassin handled! This one joining the family just like Shin and Lu did. Heisuke the parrot owning sniper! He's an idiot but is really good with a rifle. I liked his introduction this episode showing how yeah he's a bumbling gullible idiot but a good guy at heart. Heisuke not being able to tell that Sakamoto was the real deal because he looks so different now made me laugh. The comedy around his appearance compared to how he looked before is always so funny. Heisuke being such a good guy totally believed then when they said he needed to look in all the stores for the real Sakamoto. You kinda start to feel badly for him seeing how down on his luck he is. I loved the parrot too Peisuke was adorable. Its very practical to have the characters concerned about the damage the Sakamoto convenience store is getting from all these assassin attacks. The air soft tournament was smart thinking only to be upended by Lu drunk mouth. I figured that Heisuke would find out sooner than later but not immediately. Leading to a great chase scene sort of with Sakamoto and Shin having to dodge Heisuke sniper bullets. Sakamoto shattering his rifle with that rock looked so badass! Its nice that they can help Heisuke feel better about himself so its not so reliant on needing to fit in with everyone. He should definitely stick around and be part of the crew.

this was the worst episode so far. i've tried to be open minded for most of this show and enjoyed it enough that way, even though they aren't doing all the epic panels justice (because suzuki's art is just too damn good), but what really rubbed me the wrong way is the fact that they skipped the department store wars chapter. i've even defended this adaptation skipping chapters 2 and 3 because they don't add much of anything new but at least the department store chapter had the flashback with how they named hana, and wholesome family moments like that should not be skipped.

although this episode did well on the scene where sakamoto destroys the rifle, that was cool. and heisuke's little flashback was good. this is the first episode that's really left a bad taste in my mouth because of skipping that chapter.
@ryzxgum You're acting like they can't just do this chapter later on. Same way they shifted chapters around before. Calm down.

Sakamoto's took pity upon the simple-minded sniper.
Homeless, he sees the same advert.
A survival games tournament is a cinch for hitmen.
Since there are no solo participants, he has to team up with his target, unknowingly.
He didn't even notice Sakamoto Taro writing his name on the registration form.
But with drunkard cheerleader Lu Shaotang, he finally realizes. He ditches his airsoft rifle for his real one and demonstrates to Taro and Shin he maxed all his skill on sniping.
Through a combination of Shin's mind-reading and the radio headsets they have as a team, the broke sniper's position is pinpointed and Taro takes him out with just a pebble.
He gets a only small cut of the prize since he messed up the town real bad with his rounds.

Post-credits, Aoi recounts how she met Taro to Shin but he sees too much through his telepathy that Taro sends him the usual message.

@Dukino when did they shift chapters around? they straight up haven't adapted any chapter they skipped and shouldn't get time to do it later because with the introduction of the lab arc, the series stops being episodic meaning there's nothing to alter anymore and they have to follow it 1:1. the only chance at this point is making an OVA or something and that sucks because not everyone watches OVAs so imagine how many anime-onlys just miss out.

actually, they might have one more chance if they adapt the wedding anniversary chapter at the end of this cour but if they skip it then, that's it.

Heisuke looks so powerful! His crybaby behaviour kinda reminded me of Zenitsu, but at least he's not screaming while crying! Based on the ED, I think he's gonna be part of their team right?

We got the introduction of a new character: Mashimo. He's quite a sensible person, isn't he? The man was crying throughout the whole episode xD
But it's sad that he's basically homeless, and that he doesn't believe he's good at anything. I bet Sakamoto's words were really important for him. His pet bird was also really cute! But to destroy the whole town, just for Sakamoto and Shin have to use the 1 million won prize to repair all of it it's unforgivable, my boys needed that, but oh well. At least Mashimo learned something. Can't blame him for still going for the bounty, even when they were "palls" (it's not like Shin didn't do the same back in episode 1), but I wonder what will happen to him from now on, and if he's going to be reappearing in the anime as an usual character now (since he does appear in the opening and in the ending, so I suppose he's going to be part of the cast).

I just don't understand why Lu was drunk during the contest? Is this going to be her gimmick now? Honestly, didn't enjoy it, and found it quite frustrating. And it didn't make much sense honestly.

The new character feels so fucking unnecessary. They really think people would feel sad for him? Dude is dumb as fuck, and no one ever said he was a shit snipper, but that he doesn't work at all if that's all he knows, so his motivation to show everyone how he is the best snipper ever has no place here because, like I said, no one said he was a bad one lol

Also, a protagonist trio is always perfectly balanced, but quartet is stupid and unnecessary.

Lu can ruin shit up but she is still the most likable character here. I don't like them making her seem so retarded without need.

Btw you are telling me they did a shooting-team battle competiton in the street where Sakamoto lives, yet there were 0 udercover assassins in it? lmao
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~
Btw, cry about it.

It was an ok episode. Very average. My problem with this series is not it's animation, but it's thin story and poor characters. The only ones I like are Sakamoto, his wife and Shin. That's it. The rest are so uninteresting. Loved the pizza assassin though, at least that that was hilarious. The other thing that it has going against it, is its lack of good jokes. That's personal preference of course.

I don't really know how useful ricochet are supposed to be with a sniper rifle when you're in an open environment, but hey. Those bullets flew all over the place. Probably cost quite a bit for specialized bullets, yet he mentioned spending a huge chunk of money on Pi's food.

The fact drunk Lu exposed him to Heisuke tho XD she should have been on the grounds fighting with the rest of them. Even if she wasn't that great of a shot, why not let her in on the fun.

I'll give a little credit to the fact that throwing the pebble into the barrel of the rifle was cool. Typical strength feat for Sakamoto.

Also side note, when Sakamoto's chin fat dodged around bullet trajectory I was reminded of a certain scene from another anime.. if you know you know

The sniper guy is introduced in this episode... He is a real pro with sniper gun, but other than that, he is no good.
Everything is good except for Lu... Why is she drinking alcohol on that time? Such a lame way to exposed Sakamoto...
Shin reading mind power are actually more powerful than a normal mind reader, he actually can see them when someone thinking of their past.

A crybaby character appeared, and we drifted away from the topic of ruthless assassins once again...

Honestly, the part I liked the most was when Sakamoto's wife said, *"He has a pure heart."* *LOL*

I love this anime’s comedy. From now on, I won’t expect any seriousness from it at all!

Yet another hitman is on the radar against Sakamoto, and it's Heisuke Mashimo with his pet bird Piisuke...though he's quite the idiot to not figure out that his target is right in front of him. To Shin and Lu though, he's just one of the uncommon hitman who wants to prove his worth as a pro, and the paintball tournament certainly is one way to get the 1 mil prize for their own gains, espeically to Sakamoto which they need the money to repair the shop. As expected, Heisuke is also there, though Sakamoto knows that he'll slow both him and Shin down against the terrain of the shopping street. A good thing that Heisuke doesn't know much...though Lu almost tried to give the game away, which convinced him otherwise.

Against the backdrop of the tournament, Heisuke having to forfeit his spot to achieve his freelance hitman status being a thorough sniper with his custom-made bullets, it proves that he's more a danger than what he's perceived of with his marksmanship. The truth with Heisuke doing things outside of his comfort zone, and for Sakamoto to claim victory with crushing Heisuke's rifle with a pebble, plus the 1 mil prize, at least he got his form of salvation with the sympathy from Sakamoto and Shin.

A little retrospective on how Sakamoto and Aoi got together, and it's just love at first sight for Sakamoto lols, though Shin, stop reading Aoi's mind.

Heisuke is such a sympathetic character; I just want to see him succeed and be happy!

The episode was pretty funny, with the sniper's antics, especially when it came to making people feel bad for him. I do feel like the animation still falls short of what the manga deserves. Also, the directing isn't very inspired, it's all very basic shots, mostly.
