I downloaded it last night, haven't watched it yet though. From what it seems like, it'll be surreal and weird as hell in general. Looking forward to it personally.

That was a god-damned movie if I ever saw one. Watching it in the middle of the night was a good choice. Officially the bearer of the greatest sex scene in film history, I gotta say.

I'll wait to analyze all this brilliance until we near the deadline. Don't want to be the awkward early bird. Just wanna say that was wonderful.

I must say that crazy movie I just watched was really a very interesting experiment on the human mind, almost plunging the viewer into a melting pot of thoughts and images....

Story: 8
Despite the main storyline being very simple, the way the director of this film managed to craft the past, present and imaginary future scenes in this movie was stunning indeed. But derailing the linear progression of time (and by rewriting history itself in the movie), the protagonist could be thought to be a ghost figure influencing his own history and the events controlling other the characters. Very bizarre romance scenes helped to spice up the plot a little as well, alongside highly abstract art work (more on that later).

Art: 10
I was thoroughly impressed with the detail drawn in most of the abstract scenes of the movie. The use of 2D and 3D drawings made very striking contrasts between the different sections.... Couldn't say more.

Character: 6
Not much character development in any of the characters meant that none of the characters were very likable for me personally. But of course the protagonist and others served their purpose adequately enough. Some of the women were very bitchy and unlikable! Urgh.

Sound: 7
Some good soundtracks used in relevant abstract scenes enhanced the weirdness of the movie, I guess.

Enjoyment: 9
This was a very quick watch indeed.... The concept of using imagery to evoke meaning without the use of words is very strikingly powerful, especially in the way the scenes were animated. The rapid cuts between scenes almost forms a mosaic of ideas and thoughts that flow through the viewer's mind like a huge torrent wave. The art was what made the movie so engaging though.

Overall score: 8/10

My review on this will most likely be a few days late due to me having work and not having the energy or the time to review it tonight. Yeah I know I should've done it earlier ._. So sorry.

Story: 8,5

The story of Mind Game is like an explosion of many incoherences that together get to be something understable.

Memories come and go, theres coincidences that can change everything, plus the psychological world of the protagonists. That makes the storyline somehow dinamic, unpredictable, and really entertaining.

Sometimes it can be hard to follow in some meaningful fast secuences, that requieres more concentration of watcher to fully comprehend it. However most of the movie is easy to follow, and can kept the spectator thrilled.

Art: 10

This movie was really at the art vanguard by the time it was released, using well made rotoscoped images in the animation, an style that's pretty recurrent nowdays.

It's a wise choise to use this style to put emphasis on the psychological, because the rotoscoped are closer to the reality and makes a contrast con the typical way of doing anime, thats makes another dimension on the animation, another world, thats maybe the perspective of the protagonist, or maybe how it really would have been looking through our eyes.

Some scenes are pure psychodelia, a fight between the protagonista own thoughts and the reality that they have to overcome, or a show of the protagonist unconscious, thats were the instincts take place, the actions that the they do to release the things that they're repressed. Everyting rlated to that psycodelia is perflectly portrayed on the art with many metaphors, and on the plot.

Sound: 7,5

Ming Game has a good soundtrack, that again has an emphasis on the psychological, strange sounds that make a perfect ambient for the psychodelia.

Character: 7,5

Its hard to do well made character in movies due to the short duration of that kind of work. In Mind Game the characters are at first sight simple, however the storyline helps the watcher to see those characters in a deeper way, with their memories you can figure out how those characters are like that, and their individual story

Enjoyment: 10

I really like this movie, I think that is really rewatcheable because one can find new things on each watch, and look the movie with a new perspective.

Value:

I think theres an important thing about this movie besides its content, and it's how this movie innovates in the way doing animation, someone needs lots of courage to do it, because its really risky to do things like that, being able to be understanded by the people and with that getting low sales. Thanks to the innovation of few minds that take the risk we get quality series worth to be watched every season

Alright, Christ it's been a while since I watched this. Whatever, this one sticks in my memory 'cause it was so god-damned awesome.

The movie is actually very simple, but the execution of this kind of plot is done absolutely brilliantly. Without going into detail, the film crew takes an idea that's been done in countless other stories and forms it into a whimsical hallucinogen trip with a theme of the raw human desire to live, to truly live. The way events progress is ridiculously well paced and directed, going from romantic to thrilling to even thought-provoking.
The story I'd give a 7.

The art is exceptional, looking at times like some sort of an abstract painting what with the insane body dimensions of the characters. The use of live-action faces popping in at times is hilarious, but it looks amazing. I also need to mention the greatest sex scene that has ever been done in cinema, representing the raw passion of sex with psychedelic art and the chaotic movement of their entwined bodies.
The art I'd give a 9.

The major characters were basically just average people thrown into an unfortunate situation. The protagonist is developed the best, as he goes through major decision-making about his outlook on life, but the characters that surround him, while distinctive, have little backstory if any and are mostly only characterized by appearance. However, the fact that all these average people are bonded by their striving for life makes the lack of development pretty forgivable.
The characters I'd give a 6.

(It's been a while since I watched this, so I don't remember shit about the soundtrack, but I do remember the music that went along with the sex-scene made it all the more brilliant with the psychedelia.)
I'll share Metal's rating of 7 on Sound.

I enjoyed the living hell out of this film, from the puzzling beginning to the hilariously intense ending. It was impossible for me to pause the film, I was hooked on the raw human emotion that Mind Game was all about.
A 10 for enjoyment.

My overall score is also an 8.

EDIT: Ah yes, the value. The value would have to be something along the lines of living life to the fullest. The film's pretty much got a YOLO vibe to it.
