| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Well it was err an ending, at least we got that much. So this is what freedom feels like. So yeah this was terrible like the rest of the show. What bothers me the most I guess about this whole fucking mess is it didn't really need to be a mecha show, like in most mecha stuff the mech's are usually a very vital part of the setting or world building but here both the godmars and esper robots feel completely removed from everything else. Like I remember one instance in particular, it was a early episode during the first arc and there was a gishin spy in a military base and killing guards and stuff so then Takeru tracks him down battles him with esper powers for a bit and then this very sneaky stealthy spy retreats and suddenly a giant fucking just erupts from the ground and he gets in and then dumb super robot stuff happens. That always stuck out to me as like the biggest example why this thing feels like two different shows, a show about an psychic alien fighting his people to protect earth, and a incredibly low low budget super robot show from like the 70s. At least nothing can be as bad as this. Once you've been to the bottom you can only go up. |
