Episode was ok and I liked the series as a whole for what it was, but serious let down on that there was a total of like 20 seconds of combined screen time for Grendizer, Getter and Jeeg. The entire plot revolved around Devilman supported by Mazinger. Disappointing. This could have done so much more.

Not only was this incredibly ahead of its time not only with the chibi comedy style but also with the collaboration of different works. Not to mention it actually had a plot??? It was pretty funny at times and pretty interesting at others.
And while this is a non-canon parody anime it confirmed Akira is Jack!?!? At least in this he is.
Overall it was a great watch and was awesome to see these go nagai ips collaborate. I just wish there was more violence Jack.
And of course because it's an OVA I won't rate it.

@Rigatoni96
They probably didn't do more with those since Nagai is merely co-creator of Getter and Jeeg, and because Grendizer is not especially popular in Japan.

Though not a parody, Violence Jack has many more crossovers than this anime. A must read for all Devilman fans, now that it's been fully scanlated! Also the plot twist.

@JackOfDeath This came out in 1991, while old now, it was hardly ahead of its time. Goofy Chibi style characters had already been in use long before this. Heck, even Gundam had been doing it for several years at this point.

This was mostly advertised as a collab of multiple shows, but it was really only 2. They even had the other characters appearing in the adverts, yet they were basically not even in the show, let alone involved. They could easily have included them as extra support somewhere in a fight or something, just to show them off a little more than they did.

While Grendizer may not be as popular inside Japan as out, it is hardly unknown. And I would argue that the Getter franchise is perhaps as well known and almost as popular as Mazinger's. You would be hard pressed to find a fan of one that does not know the other, even back then.

And like I said, I enjoyed the show, I just think they could have done more with it.
