I haven't read the manhwa, so I have no idea if there are specific parts where living in Korea becomes prominent.

No, not particularly. Though it's been a long time since I read the manhwa/webtoon I am sure there won't be much difference at all, and if per chance there is the author would have made up for it with similar Japanese situation.

This story is a back(?) reincarnation, she goes back to her previous life [warning: ending spoilers which will not have too much effect but read at your own risk]
... If you think about this trope it is quite common in both manga and manhwa, nothing tooo much out of ordinary, personally having read so many reincarnation stories the thing which surprised me was the last part of the spoiler I gave.

Back on the main topic, the story mostly talks about medicines, a little war and stuff which, well the whole world knows so even if Elise was a Japanese it wouldn't have mattered I hope you got your answer?

In the manhwa, her name is Song Jihyeon. In the anime, it's Takamoto Aoi.

Other than that, I mean...

changing their Nationality has been around for some time now and now you guys are complaining about it?
well it does sounds reasonable but it's the writer of the anime chose to have it changed. i'm sure the author of the webtoon/manhwa would even know it first hand. before they adapted this into anime, the company had to buy the rights before adapting it and thus discussion about the nationality and name changes are also apploed to it as well.

@Kritika2410_
i've read alot of reincarnation as well, mostly human to monster. they are popular in manga and manhwa.

@Kujou_Kyou I'm not complaining about Elise's nationality being changed. I'm just wondering if it'll lead to her having a very different mentality compared to her mentality in the manhwa. I haven't read the manhwa, so I have no idea how much of an impact living in Korea has on her mentality.

@arinthach that is a good question indeed. let say that the writer already knew this situation and tried to change the mentality before and after the change.
yes she is a Korean, but iRL Japanese and Korean have something similar. we'll never know once they release more episode.
majority of the Korean drama when adapted to any Asian country have their nationality and names changed, its quite common here in Asia.

I remember watching a K-Drama that was a Chinese Historical Drama but the names and nationality switched from Chinese to Korean.

Korea is much more feminist, fertility rate in Japan is 1.2 while in SK it's 0.8.
A dying country ruled by corporations like Samsung.

Not really. Her medical knowledge is all that matters. Although I want to stay as close to the original source as possible, her ethnicity is irrelevant.

@amlg "Medical is universal" — No, it is not.

Non anime related coment warning:

Depending on the region, it doesn't even exist (best example: tribes with shamans or whatever they call them). In many other places, "medical" means healthcare. In some places, like the USA, it's a money business where people's lives, well-being, and health come with a premium price tag—all because corrupt politicians legalized putting a price on healthcare since their profit > human well-being. If thoeslaw where removed, people could sue companies for charging prices that are not relevent to healthcare and are just FREE money some parasites recive, who did not even move a finger once they became the "owner".

So no, medical is not the same everywhere. If you realize that all services, tools, materials, meds, and more are unavailable simply because of the parasites who want to get rich—ah, sorry, I forgot many people have issues thinking, so let me rephare: unless people have enough funds to afford the price tag covering not just manufacturing and handling costs but also record-breaking profits for the owner class—then no, it's not universal.

Sure, it could be, but sadly, people wage wars against each other instead of taking down the parasites who put a price tag on healthcare. But hey, police, fire brigades, volunteers, and other essential services definitely aren't living proof that private companies shouldn’t own healthcare-related products, right? I mean, can you imagine if we paid a healthcare-related tax or similar, only to cover the necessity rather than making some parasites even richer? No insurance, no nothing, you go to a hospital, you get all the help, and you continue with your life, without being forced into a debt that is pure profit for the parasites (after all, you are not repaying that debt to the doctors who saved you, but pure legalised profit for the parasites called "owners" like shareholders)
