Does advertising or anti-advertising influence your choice of anime or any other product in general?

How often do you consume any content because of advertising? If you listen to advertising at all. For example, in this case, how often do you watch any anime because someone somewhere advertised it to you? And to balance things out, how well can anti-advertisement of anime or any product in general work for you?

Everything is advertising. There is no such thing as anti advertising. Everything (under capitalism) is advertising.

Trailer/PV is a common reason people watch a certain anime, and i think it's safe to consider it a form of advertising.

To keep learning is wise.
To avoid action is fear pretending to be wisdom.

100%. I get most of my anime recommendations from Instagram reels most of the time now. Some have led to mid shows, some have led to great shows. Luck of the draw.

Just need to remember to not let the hype cloud your personal opinion of how you rate a show.

Unless you consider MAL's season chart or anichart to be an advert, then I probably haven't made a decision affected by an anime advert since.... sometime before 2009? =/

Tbh, I haven't seen a single Anime advertisment -> Maybe because of my adblocker x) -> the only ads I've seen were in Tv Tokyo from online streams, but I don't count them as that's just Japanese TV advertising their own products to watcher [I've seen it cause that's how I watch Bleach TYBW seasonally] and I am serious here. The only ads which are anime related I have received are just Gacha games [Youtube and few times while playing mobile games], that's also how I got into few titles for a temporary short-long time.

Also a quicknote - I mean here a legit Advertisment being shown to me through media - which are not official chanels of the owners of the product, so any action of me searching it up [ex. Trailer on youtube]. For example I don't count Witcher 3 trailer seen in youtube from official chanel as advertisment, but seeing a Witcher 3 trailer on TV is an advertisment. Not sure if I can explain it in better words on how I differ stuff. [Used Witcher 3 as example, cause that's the only video game I've seen being advertised on tv]

Edit - Actually no, there is one ad which I've seen and actually made me think if I wouldn't mind to go to cinema. Tik Tok ad for Demon Slayer movie being in theathers of one brand. I just recalled myself of that memory, as I was thinking what if I've seen an ad in cinema theather and it just clicked to me.
