What proportion of the anime medium is "edible" for you?

By "edible" I mean what part among of the entire anime spectrum do you consider watchable? It's not question how much you watch, but among which proportion (genres/topics) you basically choose what to watch.

For example, I personaly find most anime absolutely inedible (uninteresting). All these school romances, generic low-effort isekai/fantasy, sports dramas, standard battle shonen, maho-shoujo, slice of life, idols and many-many others anime my brain simply ignores (not reaching the quality judgment stage) because I am absolutely not interested in them. And in the end, I choose what to watch from an absolute minority of everything that the industry produces. And what about you? How "omnivorous" is your taste in anime?

Well, I have no idea which percentage of anime shows I enjoy watching. But I enjoy watching the anime shows centered around sexy, underaged anime girls. Like Hyperdimension Neptunia and Sailor Moon. Luckily, there is no shortage of such anime shows. In fact, anime is probably the most pedo thing on the Internet, without being real cp.

I voted 65-90%. Now, would I consider that many worth the time investment? No, that answer would be down to under 3%.

I tend to prefer more serious anime with a majority female cast, so I would guess that would put me into a minority of watchers, though I still like and watch comedy shows, it's just I find they tend to be a bit hit or miss

I agree with the OP. I primarily watch anime for the underaged anime girls. Duh. Does that sound creepy?

Well i'd say i enjoy most of the genres/topics covered in anime,i even like some shows of genres that i don't necessarily watch frequently like ecchi or harem shows
I used to be a lot more picky with anime, but that changed over the years

The biggest thing for me whenever I watch a new anime is the relatability, or how it translates/localizes in English. Stuff like a plot revolving around the Japanese culture, norms, traditions, etc., would boggle my mind, and I would have to pull up a different tab just to help me understand the meaning or symbolism in the anime.

Also language. an example of this is Tatami Galaxy, where the English translations were just really hard to keep up, and the explanations were too vague/it kept on trying to relate to a Japanese mindset that my non-Japanese ash could just not get.

There isn't a genre I really avoid, though some I like more than others. I guess in that regard, there is at least a large portion of anime I can watch, how many of those are of quality is another question.
