| I've just finished I.L today. I've read quite a bit of Tezuka's series over the past few years, I think this was my 6th or 7th Tezuka manga that I've finished. I thought it was probably the worst of the ones I read. It felt all over the place and super disjointed. I appreciate English publishers bringing out more obscure books and I'm happy that a publisher like Titan Manga bring older manga like this out in English but I'm just not sure why this one in particular. Is I.L a popular work of Tezuka's in Japan? I also thought it was super weird that the Titan release has a quote from Tezuka about his own book on the cover, I don't think I've seen that before. I'm just curious how other people feel about I.L because it didn't grab me as much as I was hoping. |
| By far the greatest thing Tezuka ever wrote for a seinen magazine. Everything of Tezuka's you've read is super serious and mature, either seinen or something that can be passed off as seinen. I.L was among the last of such manga that had yet to be translated. |

| Cheers for replying. I was genuinely curious how other people felt about it, there was no other topics on MAL about it so I wanted to know. It's good to know that yous liked it. I might give it a re-read in a couple years from now to see how I get on with it then. |

| @VileplumeTea Thank you for starting the conversation! I always love discussing my favorite manga. Tezuka pumped out too many gems for you to waste time rereading one you don't like. My advice is to read something else, even if you have to work harder to find a translation. I feel Black Jack-a far more popular manga-most closely resembles I.L in its episodic nature. |
