The official JoJo Portal website revealed two additional cast and the first promotional video for the Steel Ball Run: JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken (Steel Ball Run: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) anime series on Saturday. The anime adaptation of the seventh part of Hirohiko Araki's JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) manga series will debut with a 47-minute first episode on Netflix on March 19, 2026.

Sand Man: Masaaki Mizunaka (Tokyo Revengers)
A determined young man who joins the Steel Ball Run Race for its immense amount of prize money, aiming to reclaim his tribe's land. He is an extraordinary runner who participates in the race relying solely on his own legs, without riding a horse.

Pocoloco: Kenichirou Matsuda (Vinland Saga)
A farmer who participates in the Steel Ball Run Race for the prize money after a fortune teller predicted he had one-in-five-billion luck during the race period. Despite his extremely carefree personality, he sidesteps trouble after trouble with his astonishing luck. Riding horse: Hey Yo!

Yasuhiro Kimura (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 5: Ougon no Kaze) and Hideya Takahashi (Keijo!!!!!!!!) are directing the anime at David Production, with Toshiyuki Katou (JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 6: Stone Ocean) serving as series director.

Yasuko Kobayashi (Dororo) is handling the series composition, with Daisuke Tsumagari (Kishibe Rohan wa Ugokanai chief animation director) designing the characters and serving as the chief animation director. Yugo Kanno (Pluto) is composing the music.

Hirohiko Araki originally launched Steel Ball Run in Weekly Shounen Jump in January 2004 as an unrelated story to the series. Following its transfer to Ultra Jump in April 2005, it became an official part, set in an alternate timeline. Shueisha published the manga in 24 volumes between May 2004 and June 2011, later compiling it into 16 volumes from February 2017 to January 2018.

Araki launched the action adventure manga series with the first part, Phantom Blood, in Weekly Shounen Jump in 1986. The second through six part—Sentou Chouryuu (Battle Tendency), Stardust Crusaders, Diamond wa Kudakenai (Diamond Is Unbreakable), Ougon no Kaze (Golden Wind), and Stone Ocean—ran in the same magazine between 1987 and 2003.

The eighth part, JoJolion, ended in August 2021 in Ultra Jump after a ten-year run. Shueisha published the 27th and final volume in September that year.

The JoJoLands, the ninth part of the manga series, debuted in Ultra Jump in February 2023. Shueisha released the seventh and latest volume on Thursday.

The song that I'm assuming will be SBR's main theme sounds great. Very excited for this.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

Take me back to the days before MAL became infested with Twitter's favorite buzzwords.

Looks really good and makes me wonder... Why did they release such an underwhelming, bland, dull-looking teaser first that had neither that "JoJo spark" feeling nor more-or-less usual JoJo anime quality? Is it that new trend of "subverting expectations"? Well, either way, this trailer at least is very decent. Further details regarding the staff and voices of new characters are also promising.

They still haven't mentioned anything about the TV release, despite confirming 47 mins first episode.. most likely batch releases again. Sigh.
