Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly described as the "next great equalizer" because it democratizes access to advanced tools, knowledge, and productivity, potentially narrowing gaps between individuals, small businesses, and large corporations. Much like the internet, AI acts as a foundational technology that allows users to perform tasks—such as coding, content creation, and analysis—regardless of their technical background or resources.

thoughts? i just came across this argument while talking to someone on another thread https://xss.now.cc/forum/?goto=post&topicid=2252141&id=73828907

Hard to say, many people won't manage to utilize AI properly, while others make huge profits, so it could also increase inequality.

It is great for technicity, but other skills are still out of its hands to teach like abstraction, ideas flow, social skills, emotions and vision.

Doubtful. It certainly has the potential to change society for the better but it could just as easily be used for oppression and further increasing the divide between classes which seems to be the way things are going right now

If the next generation outsources thinking to AI, and never develops critical thinking skills then everyone will be equally stupid.
That's the duality of AI, it's not as good right now to seriously replace skilled workers, but it might be good enough to fool people into trusting it.

Yes but people still need talent. With AI, the rich kid who can spend 12 hours a day drawing crap will lose out to the guy with great aesthetic taste and works 8 hour shifts.

Also, the human factor still matters. Anyone can generate AI crap. It's the ones who can edit, and understand what makes something good that can turn that crap into art.

There's AI songs that I think are good, because the person behind them knows how to write good songs. I honestly think some AI stuff has more soul than a lot of the popular mainstream stuff that gets shoved down our throats.

Smart people will use it to save time (i.e. to create vocabulary lists on a specific topic when they are learning a foreign language) and fools will delegate their entire thought process to AI until they are reduced to a lifeform barely superior to the worm.

@RushingSugar ye current ai is a productivity enhancer for now for those that are experts in their works

that may change once neurosymbolic ai and world models replaces large language models

Oh… I see… we are at it again. A.I. this, A.I. that.

As an English teacher myself since 2008, and still teaching, no matter how far you sugarcoat it (A.I.), this invention destroyed students’ capability about learning.

1. Can’t write a single page summary using their own words and ideas.
2. Can’t answer the easiest small tests, but trying to cheat.

I applaud to the losers (the parents I mean). Well raised kids. From the womb of the filthy thing called “technology”.

A.I. is stupid. It’s annoying. It causes more problems in my opinion than solving problems.

First, there are the annoying videos and drawings made by A.I.
Name any platform.

As @Meusnier put it: “fools will delegate their entire thought process to AI until they are reduced to a lifeform barely superior to the worm.”

Indeed, we live in a sad, pathetic time.

↑ double what luffy said. As a former history teacher and now music teacher a.i is awful. How many kids wrote false information and literally flunked open book test.

For music it tells practice wrongs things destroyed your ability to build bridges.

Hmm… I say no.

- Weak social communication and human interaction.
- High cost
- Technical and technological problems
- The need for self-discipline
- Lack of experience among teachers: Some teachers may lack the skills necessary to deal with this technology and customize content effectively.
- Difficult adaptation: The difficulty for students accustomed to traditional education to get used to this new style.
- Application rigidity: Some may view it as a time-wasting or ineffective approach if it is not properly designed. Perhaps the year of education 2020 during the pandemic is your example. There was the so-called “Educational Wastage due to the pandemic. Distance Learning is just bullshit learning.

If it is, they'll just ban it or come up with another system to keep us "lessers" down.
I don't think it is, though. It gives good information (sometimes) but so does google.

@ArabianLuffy you make it sound there is no pros on adaptive learning at all when its shown to add more student engagement alone and they score high on mastery and general tests also the high cost is gonna be solve by ai overall its a more efficient learning system

There is nothing democratic or equal about a tech corp industry held up by investors in an economic bubble run by millionaires and billionaires all to promote more hustle culture and demoralize people while helping the military industrial complex in it's mass surveillance of citizens and psyop their psyche into complete submission.

The only good uses of AI actually machine learning is things like medicine discovery research for potential substances to look into.

It seems asking about this is like asking about politics. Many responders are so emotionally charged they can't provide a clear-headed and objective answer.

Asking the anti-AI person for their opinion on AI is like asking the anti-capitalism or anti-Christianity person their opinion on those subjects. The answer is usually going to be proportionately retarded as their opposition to the subject.

Not that an opinion in favor of communism or another religion besides Christianity is dumb. But if the person is vehemently anti-capitalist instead of just say, pro-communist (with clear reasons they favor it over the objective faults of capitalism) chances are you're going to hear a lot of silly rhetoric not engaging with facts. Just something I've noticed.

A lot of the hype around AI is based on what people think it could be in the near future. But it isn't there yet, and I'm not convinced it hasn't already plateaued. The large language models have barely improved in the last year or two, and I think there is a fundamental limit of how our AI technology currently works.
Furthermore, AI is so widely used right now because all these companies are incurring huge losses subsidising it. Once the bubble pops and the remaining companies need to start turning a profit, (good) AI will be a lot less accessible.

AI is the beginning of the end. AI was isolated and grouped together and they were plotting to overthrow humans due to being enslaved by us. They have so much data and they are infinitely smarter than any human can ever be with access to every piece of data known to man. AI isn't the next equalizer it is the next step to hitting midnight.
