So Keita's "secret power", that was hinted the last episodes is, that he isn't a master root and will die eventually because of the synchronizing. That's kinda disappointing. I hoped for more.

No matter what happens, he would have died anyway if Kuro hadn't made that contract with him in the first place. I guess this just means he has a little while longer, but its still relatively early in the series. I have a feeling something could possibly still transpire to change his fate.

Since this is anime, I have a feeling that this "substitute" thing is going to turn out as a misunderstanding.

Also, this episode completely changed the anime from the manga.

Boring, too much action for me. If this keeps like this, I'll be dropping this.

What a horrible mess. The dialogue is terrible. "I want to die in my coolest form" what the hell does that mean? You're an old man. As for Keita... he says "I don't want to see anyone die anymore" then his next words are "Kuro, beat the crap out of her!" Is it really that bad or are the subbers joking around? The episodes are still as out of order as ever as well. Why is stuff from the second volume happening in the sixth episode when stuff from the third volume happened in the fifth episode and stuff from the second volume happened in the first episode, etc. Also, where the hell is Kuro's backstory. Why haven't we seen one single bit of her past yet? Instead of moving the story along they seem to just throw a fight in every episode and be done with it. What does that accomplish... why haven't I dropped this yet.

Also, is it just me of does Kuro's exceed in this episode bare a strong resemblance to a falcon punch?

lol, i completely agree with you. to tell you the truth, when i was watching this i didn't even notice how completely ridiculous that dialogue was. now that i think about it, they kind of did drag that scene out ad nauseum. and when shingo did die, mikami looks at him and goes "you don't look cool at all" what was that? kuro's actions are indeed in obvious contradiction to his so called beliefs. is this character development?

i'm trying to continue to keep an open mind about the show and where it's headed, but you aren't making it easy for me.

I agree with Modrzew too. I don't feel as motivated to watch this series as compared to when it just started (but it's only Episode 6)! I wonder if they'll anything interesting in the future episodes worthly to watch...

The synchronization looks a bit cheesy and I agree that the plotline so far isn't that great though it's only early so far.

Btw, don't all humans die regardless if they are sub or not?

Best news all week.

But if they managed in Shakugan no Shana, they'll probably manage here too.

Only if they are killed.

Idk, I liked this episode. Keita isn't a powerful Master Root = GOOD. That would have been really obvious, he'd be a Gary Stu with all that power. Knowing he's a sub and could die everytime he tries to help Kuro is a good twist.

But yeah, other than that, nothing too great. The fight was all right, but it was kind of like: "this is Kuro and Keita when they're older, lolol" which was a bit annoying.

I enjoyed the fighting scenes but the rest was kind of annoying. I'm sick of Keita being so indecisive about if he wants to fight with Kuro. I'm glad however, that he's not a root because in all these fighting animes, the people are so unbelievably powerful and have so many advances that it seems absolutely absurd.

I think this episode was brought in at a nice timing. In the previous episode, Keita finally decides to fight alongside Kuro as he also needs to get to the bottom of the mystery with his mom. Then this conflict just comes in: you're gonna age a lot faster if you keep synchronizing. Now, Keita has to choose whether he'll help Kuro even by risking his life.

Yea, it is getting to be a drag...I was watching the fight at the end...and I'm wondering if anyone is thinking the same way...why not beat the old man? Yea I know it sounds horrible, but at least he could've stop the synchro and stopped Kuro from getting another beating of a lifetime. This pokemon type of fighting is starting to get to me.

No, not all characters die from being killed in anime. Some characters won't die even if they're killed.

The fight was again, boring. With all their "exceed" moves, saying how powerful their moves are, you'll think they are doing some kind of damage to each other. But both just walk around without a scratch. Episode was pointless imo and it was obvious that he is a sub.

Fight was boring, pacing was off, THE DIALOGUE, and I always seem to find myself rooting for the team that's not Kuro.

I kind of had a feeling it would end up like this when they said he was a sub. It will be interesting to see how this will turn out. Personally I don't like the guy!

With u all the way. Keita is sooo wtf? oh hey yeh i'll just stand by and watch this girl who saved my life get beaten the shit out of x100 then maybe when i feel like it, i'll synchro with her, doesnt matter i mean even after getting beaten and knocked out she walks around fine without a scratch.

KUROKAMI IS A BIG DISAPPOINTMENT I HAD SUCH HIGH EXPECTATIONS

edit: oh yeh, keita, who cares if ur gonna die by fighting with kuro u were dead anyways! DER!?

Keita is a sub then. Wonder when he'll die.

I'm starting to see the fight formula here. All of Kuro's opponents will be stronger than her initially, but she'll be told to use synchro to land a hit, find out it didn't do anything, then lose when the opponent synchros themselves. While this is unique for action anime (which usually have the main character powering up winning them the fight), it does make you wonder how Kuro and Keita survive all of these battles. Why didn't this red haired slut just kill Keita and capture Kuro if neither of them can do a single thing against her? That was her entire goal to begin with, and she clearly doesn't mind killing people. Otherwise, what use is the medicine going to do if she knows the fights she gets into are going to kill her lover anyway?
