'Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam' Movie Listed by Japan Film Committee

Eirin, the Film Classification and Rating Committee of Japan, has added a movie of the 2011 TV series Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam to the list of works it has evaluated for theatrical screening. Titled Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam Movie - Over the wishes, the work is listed at 1 hour 59 minutes.

The committee's rating evaluation was conducted on September 28, and the description does not reveal any new plot in comparison to the TV series. Tokyu Recreation, which operates the 109 Cinemas chain of movie theaters, is listed as the movie's distributor.

Last Exile: Ginyoku no Fam is the 20th anniversary project of animation studio Gonzo. It is the sequel of the 2003 series Last Exile, which is the studio's 10th anniversary project.

The original was one of my favourite anime's but Fam was such a waste. It wasn't bad but it wasn't even close to the originals greatness. I don't really see the point of making a film from the inferior series. That said, I will probably still watch it.

Meh. Fam was trash that ret-conned most of the original's lore. Can't say I'm looking forward to it even as a big fan of the first series.

Ginyoku no Fam is not a SECOND SEASON! It's another story happening in the same universe, that's it.

The first season was alright, The second not so much, imo.. With no new plot for the movie this is a no-go for me.

I liked the original but this one was pretty poor. Had a nice op though.

I'll watch the movie, they should of just left the series alone though tbh

As long as there will be a lot of airship battles I'm fine with it - might be nice to have good plot but it's not necessary.

Eh, a Last Exile movie sounds eh. The series was alright but there really shouldn't be more after that.

[spoiler]S2 had no reason to be made in the first place. it was kinda confirmed dio and his brother were dead. dio was brought back obviously due to fans and therefore ruined the season. his and his brother's death meant something in S1.

i still haven't gotten around to seeing S2, but from the clips i've seen, it's not at all interesting or as pretty as S1. heck, if they made a S3 instead of the movie, i'd still be confused.[/i]

also, what is up with all this anime getting films recently lol?

AS for the movie...yeah this month has been on a role with a lot of movie announcement lateltly...Kuroshitsuji...SAO and now Last Exile..i wonder if anything else is coming up hehe. :)

didn't read the spoilers since i'm still holding S2 off. :/

but the most i can say is that i'll catch up to be in time for the movie i suppose. i barely have any anime on my list anyway.

We need a real plot in between the first and Fam Silver Wing and not an extension to season 2 story.

intriguing, i never thought they would release something after this long and honestly thought the change of tone in the second season killed intrest in the franchise
