I might be a sucker for training and elimination themed stories.
I like how they actually lost their first match badly but they still utilize the failure as a lesson. But like more importantly the author made them fail badly.

Also it's probably the scanlation but the language is kinda funny. Very risque yet realistic I'd say.

Very tragically this manga is way too popular at the library to every be available. It's always on hold or out or what have you...

Yeah yeah whatever I've been getting like every volume atp from the library just fine. Esp when reading man different series, you just start mixing up what you're reading whenever you're on hold with one thing.

Also, Blue Lock Eleven v. U20 time. Aryu's save was actually sick. And Gagamaru clutching up is cool. And the three back to back shot rebounds on the U20 goalpost was awesome bro. Nagi for the win like always.

So far, my favorite shounen protagonist of the big series I've read so far (Dragon Ball and One Piece). Jutsu is far more interesting than Ki blasts ever could be and Devil Fruit abilities, though with more potential to be crazy, are only alright.

That said, I hadn't realized jutsu could mean any damn ability you want. Like it's hardly even ninja-adjacent. They can breathe fire, clone themselves, and as a personal favorite, disguise themselves with what is basically shapeshifting (voice included!).

Harem no Jutsu is the strongest and most iconic ability in fiction. Fuck off kamehameha...

----- Chapter 33 (End of Zabusa Arc) -----

So good. Got me to cry several times much like One Piece had with its emotional highs and lows.

And then Naruto invents his Dattebayo catchphrase. Yep, THE catchphrase. Believe it (a translator note at the end of my colored edition of the chapter explained its meaninglessness and not to look at the wiki due to spoilers, what champions).

----- Chapter 86 (Lee's Battle with Gaara / End of Preliminaries) -----

Fuck man. Lee's drive and his bond with his teacher are incredible. I love the archetype Lee represents as the insistent, passionate fighter who is all one type of fighting, which has been super entertaining already.

This fight, oh my god. Master Guy is such a goat as well. Masashi Kishimoto was cooking SO MUCH with these characters, and this battle let Lee go all out in such a satisfying way. Seeing Master Guy's love for Lee is heartbreaking.

Shit got me crying man. So fire.

----- Gaara fight, Three Lords, Tsunade is hokage now, sasuke is dumb as hell and left konoha to be an eternal edgelord like chapter 120-180-woah where did those chapters go -----

Giant animal summoning is neat. Naruto summoning that giant toad for his fight with Gaara was badass. Tsunade is alright. Lee and Sakura are as pitiable as ever. The gang just left the leaf village to go after Sasuke's dumb ass.

It's all great and apparently enough that I binged like 100 chapters before coming back to MAL. I've been busy actually focused on the manga enough to forget to update MAL.

Honestly, nothing too emotionally heavy happened that wasn't anticipated many chapters before. Sasuke is not gonna come back, that was pretty evident. Then the Itachi flashback about how he must kill his best friend to get the super sharingan or whatever was rather convenient. Then he doesn't even explain it to Naruto, just says "I must kill you...because you are my best friend!"

And Naruto rightfully is like what is wrong with you. actually nevermind ill just beat your ass and drag you back home. And then instead of like knocking out sasuke or whatever he went for sasuke's headband, which touches Sasuke somehow which is neat, and he leaves him the headband.

Naruto refuses to give up on him anyway since he promised Sakura he'd bring him back. Damn.

Also dont forget Rock Lee just flew in and had the best moment of the konohagakure crew with his DRUNKEN FIST TECHNIQUE. HARD.

Also the Gaara crew cleaning up at the end was pretty neat. Gaara glew up hard.

Sakura becoming a medic ninja is kind of cliche because...yknow...girl ninja have to become motherly caretaker types. but i mean there is Temari, Tsunade, and Ino who still have some backbone I feel like. Poor Hinata is relegated to sweet gentle mode. Sakura does have drive, which is good. The Akatsuki are pretty unremarkable yet, but they have the last page of Classic Naruto so obviously they will be major antagonists of Shippuden for Naruto to fight with.

Just send Might Guy in there. He'll wipe the floor with those chumps for sure.

Silly. Has some pretty funny shit. Also all the panels are vertical (sans a few of the special chapters), which is interesting. Hillbilly Osaka my goat!!!!!!!!! Also the short-haired bih is good too. I can't remember her name rn.

I wonder how the anime differs given it must be way more content. Mangareader shows like 30 chapters while MAL says 70? what's with that?
