This anime held my interest from the very first episode. The backstory of the main character was delivered at just the right pace: neither too long nor too short-making his wish to become an “evil lord” feel completely justified.

The MC isn’t overpowered from the start. In fact, he begins at the very bottom, in a situation where most would fall into despair. Instead of wasting time with long episodes of depression or endless self-reflection, the anime paces itself well and shows the MC confronting his circumstances directly.

Character design and personalities are well balanced. While the MC can be somewhat gullible, he never allows his naivety ... to become a liability, consistently making the right decisions. Unlike many protagonists in similar series, he is not portrayed as overly merciful to villains. Liam understands when to spare and when to kill, which keeps the stakes meaningful.

Despite the title, don’t be misled ,there’s little actual “evil” in Liam’s actions. He deeply values his people and the populace under him.

As for romance, while it isn’t the main focus, it’s handled surprisingly well. There’s enough to satisfy viewers seeking a subplot of love, and it even delivers a stronger buildup and payoff than many shows dedicated entirely to romance. The relationship develops naturally, and the payoff is clear by the final episode.

I’ve read that this season adapts only the first volume of the light novel out of ten, meaning there’s plenty more material left. Hopefully, we’ll get a second season. That said, even if no continuation arrives, the first season stands well on its own and is satisfying in its execution.

Unlike most isekai or reincarnation stories, this one doesn’t rely on overused tropes like harem antics, excessive despair, or dragged-out character suffering. Liam isn’t a shy teenager who struggles to express himself-he’s bold, caring, and courageous enough to openly admit his feelings.

Overall, I’m the Evil Lord of an Intergalactic Empire! is a wholesome and refreshing entry in the isekai/reincarnation genre. It has everything: action, romance, character growth-but all in just the right amounts.

The only downside? You might struggle a bit to find accurate subtitles. Also worth noting, another one already confirmed. So now's the perfect time to jump in.

This anime falls short of expectations in several key areas. The protagonist's characterization is deeply flawed, coming across as imbecile and unsympathetic. The narrative follows a familiar and overused trope where the female lead, a "gal," is superficially judged but ultimately revealed to be pure-hearted.

Having watched over 50 anime in the past six months, I can confidently say that this series was a significant letdown. Despite my efforts to persevere, I found myself unable to continue beyond the second episode. While the voice acting was commendable, it was not enough to redeem the overall experience.

Overall, "Hajimete no Gal" is a disappointing venture, and ... I would recommend it only to those who prioritize visuals over storyline and character development.

From the very first episode of season one to the latest episode (as of January 19, 2025), Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun has consistently held my attention. One of the aspects I appreciate most is that the main character (MC) is not overpowered from the outset. Instead, he relies on the support of his friends and the guidance of his adoptive grandfather. This approach allows the MC to gain the trust and affection of those around him through acts of kindness, standing up for others, and often putting himself at great risk.

Despite being one of the more timid characters in the series, the MC's determination ... to improve himself daily is commendable. His growth is driven by his desire to stay close to his friends, which adds a heartfelt dimension to the narrative.

The animation quality, while generic, is consistent, making the series an easy and smooth watch. Notably, there are no unnecessary ecchi moments, which is a refreshing change for a fantasy comedy anime. The comedic timing is well-executed, and there is sufficient character development not just for the MC but also for the supporting cast.

For those who enjoy a slow-burn romance subplot, there are elements in the series that may capture your interest, even though the primary genre is fantasy comedy. The plot is engaging, and the anime covers the material at a well-balanced pace. One drawback in the early arcs was the rapid rank advancements of characters, but this issue was later addressed in the manga, which I have followed up to the latest chapter (as of January 19, 2025). The manga offers some highly entertaining arcs with further character development and an intriguing mystery element that has yet to be fully revealed. (A word of caution: avoid spoilers on the internet!)

Regarding the voice acting, the dialogue delivery was passable but did not particularly stand out. If I were to rate it generously, I would give it a 5.5/10. While not terrible, it did not captivate my attention as much as other aspects of the series.

Overall, Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun is a solid choice for viewers who enjoy demon-themed anime without the clichéd overpowered MC and excessive ecchi content. I would rate it as follows: 7.5/10 for fantasy comedy, 6/10 for animation, and 5.5/10 for voice acting and dialogue delivery.

However, I found the final episode somewhat underwhelming. It left much to be desired and could have been executed more effectively to provide a more satisfying conclusion. Despite this, the series makes for a decent binge-watch in a single evening.

Despite some deviations from the manga, the storyline maintains a smooth flow that sustains interest without inducing boredom or undue tension. The narrative is skillfully crafted, blending romance with everyday scenarios in a manner that feels authentic and relatable.

One of the anime’s strengths lies in its character development, notably with its introspective main protagonists. Throughout the series, these characters gradually emerge from their shells, particularly in pivotal moments that underscore their growth. This evolution adds a layer of realism and depth to the storyline. Moreover, the anime adeptly navigates the complexities ... of marriage, presenting a mature and grounded perspective.

While the series doesn’t rely heavily on dramatic peaks and valleys, it delivers a comforting and uplifting viewing experience. Across its concise 12-episode span, "Kekkon suru tte, Hontou desu ka" concludes satisfactorily, leaving a sense of fulfillment. Personally, I envision potential for a special or OVA dedicated to exploring the dynamics between side characters "Gonda and Kaori", as their dynamic was intriguing and could be explored further.

For enthusiasts of gentle, heartwarming romance, this one is definitely worth a watch.
